Hi

I have just come back from DLP. I was shocked to see the back of DLP in such bad condition. They obviously only paint the front. I was informed that WDW castle is painted regularly is this true?

Thanks
Michelle

How strange Michelle, that they only paint the back! I would have thought WDWs castle is kept ***** and span at all times, last year we were the last people out of the park one night and as we walked back down through main street a whole army of workers came out armed with ladders and cleaning stuf and paint cans, we asked a cm about it and he said that every night the whole park is gone over witha fine toothcomb and EVERY little scratch and mark is put just right for the following morning. What a wonderful place!

Hi

I thought it was reguarly painted and cleaned. I mentioned this on the DLP site about DLP Vs WDW. Somebody said that WDW does not care about the upkeep of the park. :confused3 I mentioned the fact that WDW actually re-paint thier castle regularly. They said they heard it has not been painted for years that DLP castle is due. The funny thing was they had not actually been to WDW :confused3 so I said how would you know unless you have been. I dont know I just wanted to know and confirm what I already knew. Thanks Carol.

I read somewhere that there is a crew of painters whose sole job is to paint the railings, they do a different section every night and once they have finsihed the whole park they start again!!
On other boards I have read people complaining that WDW looks really dirty now with loads of rubbish but it has never been anything but immaculate when I have been there!

Same here. I have never seen any rubbish or any area that lacks attention. I think WDW is well looked after. I dont know then perhaps they have had a bad day or like my house my house is lovely and clean until a minute before guests arrive the boys has wrecked it and makes me look untidy :rotfl2:

I also read that every single spot of paint in WDw is coded so if a cm notices, say a scratch on one horse on the carousel they report back the horse number and if its bridle, saddle etc and the maintainance team can extract the precise colour paint to cover the scratch. when you think of the many hundreds of thousands of shades used all over wdw this is amazing

Hi

If you think about it I suppose it would make sense. I have never thought about it before. This is why I love WDW they are so organised, friendly and I love it and cant wait till I go Dec 07. How am I going to wait that long?

They are also refurbishing the whole caste soon - between Mid Sept and Mid Dc to get ready for the new celebration. As my wedding photos are sceduled suring this time i received an email about it. Apparently they will be repainting the whole thing and removing the gold decs from the 50th celebrations - but have yet to confirm what "look" they are going for this time. Personally i would ike them to keep the traditional castle look as i dont particularly want my wedding pics with it looking like a bday cake again :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have to say I was not impressed with the birthday cake look either. It would be nice if the castle was traditional this year. How long will the new celebrations be 18 months? We go in Dec 07.
