how often do you take a family vacation?

all our disney trips(which used to be once a year then this year turned into 4 but it's balanced out to 2 trips a year now! lol) and then for spring break we are going to HH and I guess that's about it...our vacas are always disney or just going to grandparents house

We are DINKS who are kids at heart and vacations are the one true luxury we give ourselves. We are both at 3 weeks vacation as well and try to use those vacation days for vacation (and not staying home doing things we probably should).

We have 2 cruises and trip to WDW planned for next year. Might as well enjoy life now - we don't know what the future holds.

Usually two 1-week fly-somewhere vacations, most often Orlando sometime between Jan-March and someplace else either at the end of summer or this year Thanksgiving week. We often like to go new places for our fall trip. Pick a place we've never been too and see where FFmiles and either Hotel points or priceline will take us.

We try to do several long weekends using the RV in the summer months.

Time off as a family is important to us and we do travel quite a bit, but we do it as cheap as possible. I travel for work and sometimes bring the family with (like this week) and we usually use the miles I earn for or vacations (unless we find a great deal.) I should add that we never stay on-site at Disney, I've never paid over $72.00 tops for a hotel room (usually either use points or priceline) so we can afford more days away.

We have just reached a point in our lives where vacations are extremely important to us. The kids are grown and gone, no grandchildren, DH's job is stable....mine is a little dicey depending on who is holding political office, but appears stable for another 2 years at least.

This year we chose between remodeling our house and buying DVC - DVC won out.

DH gets something like 26 vacation days per year plus overtime compensation, so we can take off quite frequently. We usually do one long vacation and several short ones. We camp alot and DH goes visiting school friends and relatives in Ohio when I cannot get time off.

This coming year we are planning 3 trips - 2 to WDW and one over Xmas 2003 holiday, destination undecided.

2004 - probably a cruise using DVC points.

We like to take 2 or 3, week or longer trips a year.... then 3 or 4, 3 or 4 day vacations....... DH has been with his company for over 20 years so he gets 5 or 6 weeks a year...... My job is portable (stay at home mom) so we have the flexabiltiy to go when we want.........

We usually take 2 vacations........one to WDW and one to the shore

We go on a long family vacation once a year and 2 other small getaways of a couple days. We let the kids trash something other than our house(lol).
We try to go to disney every other year and then do something where we mix and match something educational and fun!!

Vacations are important to us, and we budget accordingly. Time off from work is more limiting than the $$$.

My parents have a summer home in the North Carolina mountains, and we always spend 10 days there during the summer. We drive, so our transportation and lodging costs are almost nothing. DH's parents have a home at the beach, about an hour south of us, so we can also do that for cheap!

Our trips to WDW are usually 2 or 3 day weekend events, never stayed longer than that. We try to go 2-3 times a year.

Usually, our other trips, excluding the mountains in the summer, are long weekend getaways. Usually we drive. I love to use Priceline to get really nice accomodations for a fraction of the rack rate.

We leaving to go skiing in Colorado tomorrow morning! 5 nights in Breckenridge. Last time we did a ski trip was 4 years ago, so we are very excited.
