How Often do you Dust at Home?

It seems like our house gets awfully dusty quite often!

In our previous home we had a wood stove so it was REALLY dusty in the winter. I had to dust at least weekly, but usually cheated and used the vacuum attachment to dust.
Now I splurge and have Merry Maids come in bi-weekly to dust cause I just can't get to it. It's just so far down on my chore list I never get to it. I still have to vacuum at least twice a week with a 7-year old, 2 cats and a German Shepherd.

I dust and vacumn everyday, sometimes twice a day. I know, I'm a dork

We never open our windows and we have an electostatic air cleaner on our A/C. Run hepa air cleaners in our bedroom, LR, kitchen and FR so I only dust every 4 weeks, and it is rearly dusty.

I have a good feather duster from Flylady.net and it takes me 10 minutes at most to dust my main level (I don't have many knick knacks and I'm talking a quick dusting). I do it weekly, before I vacuum. The thing that gets the dustiest is the tv area. Everything else could probably go 2 weeks, but it's great entertainment to watch the cats and one of the dogs chase me around the house for a little while.

Dust, honestly, about once a week. UPstairs needs it more than downstairs for some reason.


For vacuuming, I'm the opposite. I vacuum the downstairs every day and vacuum upstairs about once a week.

I could probably dust every day (if I was home everyday I probably would), but I don't.....usually at least 3 times a week.

I dust every weekend....oddly though...it's my desk here (where I sit at the computer & DIS ....A LOT) that gets the MOST dusty!!! I mean, it needs it every day. It's just a dust magnet!

You're supposed to dust your home?? I'm kidding!! I dust about once a week. Has anyone tried those new swiffer dusters?? I really like them they seem to work great and make dusting fun.

I need to vacuum badly but my cat is so horribly scared of the vacuum. I feel so bad when I have to turn it on.

I just hate dusting! It's such a futile chore, because as soon as you finish you have to start all over again!

If my house needs a dusting between visits from the cleaning ladies I put the kids to work.

If your house gets dusty fast try changing your filters more often. I cahnge ours every month or so and it really helps. I dust every 5-7 days.
