How often do you check back for AP rates?

I just tried getting the AP rates for the GCH in early Dec, but, sigh, Sold Out!:sad1:

I could get the PPH for those great rates, but, the rooms at the Anabella look nice too, and it's only a little farther (and cheaper! No $11.50 resort fee!)

Anyways, how often do you experienced DL'ers call back to check for opened up AP rates? (or should I just give up?)

Much like Crazy4Disney72, our trip DID start out budget minded, but it seems to be taking on a life of its own! :rolleyes1 We've stayed across the street on Harbour twice now, and were looking for something a little less crazed...

Thanks!

My sister has reservations at GCH paying rack rate in Oct. I'm still calling every other day to see if any special AP rate rooms have opened up for her days. I use my cel phone so i don't have any additional long distance charges. I notice that since you're from Canada that calling DL is an international call? It depends on how much you want to invest calling to see if your dates have opened up.

I'd chose to stay onsite if it was the same price as staying off-site. I don't know how long your trip is for, but guests of the 3 DLR hotels are granted ee every day of their stay that it's available. You only get 1 day of ee with a parkhopper of 3 days or longer.

Here is what I did....

The first time I called, I asked for GC availability my entire stay of 7 nights. They did not have that available. Then the next day I called and had them check every day separately of my trip. 2 of the days were available, so i booked them. A few more days and a few more calls, I was able to get 4 of the days booked at the AP4 rate. Long story short...It took about 6-7 calls over about 2 weeks to get all 7 days together on one reservation.

A lot of work but well worth it to pay half for the trip that we already had planned :cool1:

What a great idea! What do you think the odds are that rooms will open up the first week of December, though? Am I dreaming?

I am not sure what the odds are for those dates, but, my dates in November over Veteran's Day have been booked on the Disneyland vacation package website since March.

You have lots of time and it could not hurt to keep calling back (except for the phone bill I guess:eek: ) If you are unable to get all your dates at the GC AP4 rate, you only need to cancel 72 hours ahead and you still have the PP ressies.

This is a tad off topic, but would anyone know what AP rates have been in the past for the three DLH resort hotels for Spring (March-April), if any? We're considering getting AP's in the future (maybe 2009) and I'm just curious. . .

Thank you! :teeth:
