How often do you change your sheets?

I'll do this in a poll so ya can "tell" the truth!

We change ours about every 7 or 8 days. But thr reason I ask is, whenever my FIL comes over to stay my wife changes the sheets before he gets here. Every single time, even if he was the only one who was in that bed between his last visit and his current visit.

She says "my dad likes clean sheets".

Well, so do I, but we don't put new ones on our bed every day. And her dad lives with my wife's brother and his wife, and I know she ain't changing this guy's sheets every day. And he isn't doing it either.

So, how often do you change your bed sheets?

EDIT, because it only gets clearer in a later post, he comes 2 - 3x a month, for 1 day at a time.

I LOVE clean sheets. But I HATE doing laundry. So I change them about once a week. Unless someone was eating in bed

But I do think it strange that he gets new sheets every day ( because he usually only stays one day --- though 2 - 3x a month ) and we only get new sheets once a week, basically.

I'd say it's around every 5-7 days.

Your DW might want to try Febreeze. I use it every morning on our beds and also on the guest bed the day company is arriving. I always keep the guest bed made up with clean sheets but if they've sat on it for a few months they could use a freshening up.

I do mine every other week. It's just me in the bed, and I don't sweat, so they really don't get dirty.

My guest bed gets clean sheets put on right after the visitor leaves. In other words, I wash the sheets when they leave, and put clean ones on. Then even if it's been months, they use the sheets that are on there. If I had pets or something to dirty the bed, I would put clean ones on just before the guest came, but I don't.

I try to change sheets once a week, but sometimes it goes a little longer. Especially with the boys' beds. I would take off sheets everytime after a guest used them and wash them. So I agree with your wife on this one.

I change the sheets every week, usually on Sunday.
I always put fresh sheets on the guest bed if someone is going to be sleeping there.

Once every 10/11 days. It gets done whenever I do my other laundry too since its just easier for me to remember it that way.

How often DO I, or how often do I WANT to? It's hard when the laundry room always seems to be backed up with another load or two of clothes ready to go.

In a perfect world I'd change them twice a week. I love clean linens!

I usually do mine on Sundays. Our guest bed is the fouton in the playroom, so I strip it whenever guests leave, and re-make it right before they come. I would have to agree with your wife. It's nice to smell fresh sheets when you stay at someone else's house.

I answered the poll, now I'll address the guest bed issue.

I don't have a guest room but if I did, I have to admit, I'm with you! I always have clean sheets for guests, but if they were there one night and then were coming back for another night the next week - I'd probably leave the sheets on. Same person (especially if it's a family member I don't have to impress)+ only one night spent in them + less than a two week gap between uses = a chance to save a little laundry for me!

Different people, a longer time slept in them, or a longer gap between uses would of course require a sheet change.

Sunday and Wednesday but I DO NOT IRON SHEETS! lol...

Only because I do laundry on Monday and Thursday...if I did laundry once a week, I'd only wash them once a week LOL

For our guest room, I change the sheets right after they leave, then make up the bed again.

For our room, it's probably about a week and a half or so. We work 24 hour shifts, so the bed is never slept in 7 nights a week anyways.
