How necessary is a hair/makeup trial?

We get to Disney on April 28th and our wedding is April 29th. I called tonight Beaute Speciale to reserve a trial and my wedding day, but the woman on the phone told me that it would be cutting it too close to do the trial the night before since hotel rooms aren't always ready for check in right at 3. I'm not sure I want to risk not having a trial...did you have one? What would you recommend?

I also worked with Beaute Speciale and at first, I wasn't going to do a trial, but I ended up booking an engagement session and thought I might pair the trial with the shoot like many other brides have done before.

The reason I am very very happy I did the trial is because I thought I wanted a very 1920s - 1940s finger wave with my bangs and I have never seen it on me before. Also I was trying false lashes and airbrushing.

I did NOT like the vintage look on me and knew when it came time to the wedding, only that part needed to be tweaked and I trusted the stylist for the rest of the look.

I also found out I loved the false lashes and airbrushing.

If it doesn't work out with timing, Beaute Speciale does wonderful work and if you know what looks good on you - you can trust them. But if possible, I would try and push for a trial espcially if you have uneasy feelings about stylings you've never had before.

I hope it all works out for you and you can get what makes you feel most comfortable.

If you are not doing anything totally differant or complicated, than the trail is not a biggie.

I didn't have a trial because we got to Orlando only a few days before the wedding, and we were busy doing last minute wedding errands. I also had Beaute Speciale and they were wonderful, totally willing to do whatever you wanted and really responsive to whether you liked it as they were working. I wouldn't be worried about not having a trial...as said above, if it's you're not going for a really specific look, they will be able to tweak and fix the look to your likings that day.

I had Beaute Speciale and I didn't have a trial because like some of the other posters I arrived in Orlando only a couple days before our wedding.

TBH I'm glad I didn't spend the money on a trial, it really wasn't necessary, Laine knew what she was doing and I was very happy with my make-up and hair. :thumbsup2

I used Beaute Speciale and didn't have a trial and my hair and make up turned out perfect. I just took a photo of a hair style I liked :thumbsup2

Same here. I got there a few days before, had beaute speciale. I did not do one and didnt even have a pic or an idea. we played for a few mina nd based on the dress and veil Jacqui did an amazing job!

Thought about a trial but glad I didn't. I used beaute speciale and they did a fantastic job. Didn't give a photo just said I want it up with my veil at the bottom and gave them my headband! Figured that I wouldn't be disappointed with what they did that way and it gives them a chance to work their magic freely.

Save your money, you will be glad you did!

I'm unsure exactly what hairstyle I want or what headpiece I'm going to use, so I'm having a trial at home with my regular hairstylist. Then, I'll take a picture of that for an example to show my stylist at Disney. I'm using Beaute Speciale too and have heard and seen nothing but great things, so I'm sure it will be great. If you feel like you want a trial, this might be a way to work around the timing issue.

I also used Beaute Speciale... no trial. Took a picture of what I wanted and Anna was spot on, she made my hair look exactly like it. So I would say if you know what you want it's not a necessity. If you aren't sure, it's probably a good idea to at least do one at home with your hairdresser to see what you like. Best of luck!

I'm another who used Beaute Speciale. I did my own makeup but used them for my hair. I did a trial, but truthfully it was unnecessary. I had a few pictures to give her an idea what I wanted and she did great. They really know what they're doing!

I to used Beauty Speciale and didn't have a trial. I showed her a couple of pictures of what I wanted and let her do her thing. My hair and makeup was done at 6am due to our EPCOT session before the ceremony and both lasted all day till almost 10pm after we got back to our room after our EPCOT desert party.

I'm thinking of using Beaute Special and in Aug for our menu tasting, we're also meeting with out photographers for an engagement shoot so I'll be trying Beaute out to see how they are. =)

I also used beaute speciale and did not have a trial. Like many others we only arrived in Disney 3 days before wedding and had too much else to do. I had also seen there work and knew they were really good. I was completely pleased with my hair and makeup and glad I did not waste the money on one. Hope that helps :goodvibes

I used Beaute Speciale as well and didn't do a trial. I brought pictures of how I wanted my hair to look for Laine and Holly gave me recommendations for my makeup and I went with her suggestions. Both of them did a fabulous job. :thumbsup2

I also used Beaute Speciale for my July 2010 wedding.
I did not have a trial either. I was SOOOOO happy with their work. I wanted the vintage 20's look to my hair and she nailed it!!
I was just going to have a natural make-up look and the girl who came asked me if I wanted the vintage make-up to go along with the hair. I said I wasn't sure I would like it, and I didn't want to change my look too much. She said she had time to try it, and if I didn't like it she would do a more natural look. Well, what she did looked so fantastic my MOH was freaking out with how good the hair and make-up looked together and so was I.
This company have so many professionals working for them that I think you will be fine without a trial.
You cold also have a trial at home with your own hairdresser and take lots of pictures for Beaute Speciale to refer to as well.

I used Beaute also. I did NOT have a trial and I did NOT bring photo's. I told Laine what I wanted & she did it. She also did my 14 y/o daughter. My daughter looked like a princess...not like the cover of vogue! Laine kept my daughters look light & natural. Mine was natural looking as well...but more grown up. They are just amazing!

I used Beaute Speciale for my June 2009 Disney Wedding. I wouldn't worry about the trial... They are fantastic! If you have a picture/idea it will help. I did do a trial only because my husband insisted and I live local, but it was totally unecessary. As long as the style you want is realistic for your hair type Beaute Speciale will make it happen. Maybe an option for you could be to email them a picture of you with your everyday hair in addition to a picture of the style you would like. Provide them with a little bit of info. on the specifics of your hair type (dry, frizzy, straight, curly, wavey, etc.) as well as any issues, if any, you have with your on a daily basis. Also let them know if you will have any type of headpiece (tiara, veil... I had both). I think they can set your mind at ease through email or make any suggestions recommendations from that, what you may want to consider differently beforehand if need be... just a thought. I'm certain they won't dissapoint you!
