Are they seriously asking for $100 just for a wand at Harry Potter land!? That's ridiculous!! And is it true that you can't just go and buy one? You have to get picked?? :scared1::confused3

Not true. They cost around $30.00 each. I just got back this week, and bought 2 wands for my two sons. You only get "picked" in the Ollivander show, but rest assured they are selling plenty of wands everywhere, should you wish to buy one!!!!

I think what you saw was the other post regarding how to much bring per child. Along time poster and myself both recommended bringing $100 per child to cover the cost of a wand plus other goodies. That OP also mistook the $100 amount to be just the wand :)

You can buy the wands either on CARTS outside the castle or in the Owl Post.

My son's was about $26-$27 with tax and AP discount.:thumbsup2

Our wands were $27 each with our AAA card. We saved a ton at Universal just showing our card. 10% off almost everywhere including all our food and merchandise. :thumbsup2

You misunderstood my other post. The OP had asked how much spending money it would be for the day with her two kids. I said a total of $100 for each child getting a wand, butterbeer and some snacks. I didn't mean a $100 for each wand but a total of $100 assuming each child would get a wand, butterbeer and snacks.
