This will be our first time driving to WDW (and first visit in over two decades).
We live about an 1.5 hours east of Toronto (in Omemee, near Peterbrough) and wondering what we should budget for gas for the trip to WDW. We are planning on taking the 401 to Windsor and then the I-75 to WDW.
We will de going in December.

We are getting so excited, I have no idea how I will manage to wait four more months!

Any info. (plus driving tips) would be greatly appreciated.

We used to plan on around $300 Cdn for gas and munchies for the whole trip, but with the raise in gas prices I would budget around $450 now.

It really depends on your vehicle. We went in a standard Sunfire in January and it cost $110 U.S. return. In May of this year we went with my in-laws in their Ford Windstar and it cost just over $200 U.S. return. My mom's Toyota Camry cost about $130 return. I'm not sure how much the prices have increased since May, but at that time we paid anywhere from $1.89/gallon to $2.15/gallon.

Try these links...

GasBuddy for low & high gas prices by city.

AAA Fuel Cost Calculator to calculate your total trip cost.

You will find that Georgia should have the cheapest gas on your trip. For example, I paid $1.53/gallon the other day in NE Atlanta.

I would say look at the # of km to WDW and what your vehicle normally gets on highway mileage. Say 500km per fill up and you will get something close to how many times you will need to fill up. Now as to what kind of price you'll be able to get for gas, that's a crap shoot.

i will be travelling that route from kitchener in a couple weeks, i will try and remember to post what i payed when i return!

We just returned (drove 5805 kms total) and spent $400 CAD on gas driving a Pontiac Montana van. We drove around Orlando a bit but most of that was the drive there and back.

Gas prices varied:
Trip down July 9th & 10th: $0.799/L in Ottawa, $0.81/L in Kitchener, $1.859/gal in Ohio, $1.799/gal in Georgia, $1.759/gal in Georgia

In Orlando July 21st: $1.879 on International Drive

Trip Back July 24th & 25th: $1.719/gal in Georgia, $1.699/gal in Georgia, $1.789/gal in Ohio, $0.765/L in Kitchener.

We drove the I75 and loved it...be sure to get a copy of Dave Hunter's "Along the I75" book...it was great. Happy planning.
