Inspired by the thread: "How much is your 2012 Disney Vacation costing this year?" by KELLY :) I thought maybe it would be kind of fun to ask just the opposite.

How much was your least expensive trip to Disney? (Only if you'd like to share.) ...and do you remember back in those good ol' days when Disney were offering $49 per room a night at the All Star Resorts and $84 at the moderate resorts? I would love to see those discounts back. :)

With a much change over the years (inflation).. Do you take less trip now to Disney? Do less time at Disney? Change your resort choice? Do you drive now as oppose to flying? Or have things been the same or have gotten better? Thank you for sharing. :goodvibes

We did a 7 night trip in September of 2000, myself, DH and oldest DS (who was five at that time) for less that $1500 package cost, stayed at All Star Sports.

We went in 2009 and got a free resort stay at All Star Sports through Last Minute Travel for a week. We had two adult tickets (DS was 3 weeks short of 3) for $400, $500 Southwest Flight, and used Disney rewards for food and souvenirs. Including the Disney rewards we were about $1500. Excluding them we were under $1000.

Next year we are looking at $1000 hotel, $1000 for tickets (2 kids over 3 now), $1000 for plane flight, and up to $1000 on food and souvenirs.

I think our cheapest was $2000 or so, but not real sure. We still go once a year, so no, it hasn't changed the way we travel. We most often stay at a mod (by choice), we always fly since driving would probably be just as expensive since we would have to have hotel twice going down and twice coming home. We always stay 8 days. This is our one big vacation a year and we budget for it so inflation doesn't change the way we do it. Great questions, though.

Middle DS and I went in Janusary for 6 nights at AKL and it was about $1000.
That said, we have APs, and we fly on FF miles so no cost there.
Basically it was just hotel and food. No dining plan, I have TIW.

Plenty of souvies (he loves pins!), I actually purchased one or two of the character pics they take at certain meals (Donald at TH for example) and a trip to Pirates League too.

I'm sure we had some DisVisa points we used too but I can't recall how many. Less than 100 I'm sure.

2001 and 2002 we booked the values at $49 a night

2005 we booked the CR wing units at $137 a night

2008 we booked AKL CL zebra trail view for $180 a night

2009 we booked WL for $129 a night

2009 we booked Poly CL for $300 a night

I think those are the best deals I have found

We got a preferred room at ASMovies 2 years ago for $59 a night - what a deal! It was the winter holiday season too. We also booked POFQ a few different times for about $90 a night 3-4 years ago.

We also stayed at AKL when it first opened for $119 a night.

I am glad the economy is doing better but I will miss those amazing deals!

I've been going to Disney on close to an annual basis since 1982 so I'm sure I was paying a lot less for trips back then as to comapred to today. Disney used to offer a fantasitc pacakge in the late 1980's and early 1990's called "Jolly Holidays". The package could be booked for late November to mid December and included parks passes, discounts on the room and also your choice of a ticket to MVMCP or a Christmas themed dinner show at the Contemporary. I booked this package year after year unti it was discontinued. That was back in the day when the resort was amost deserted during the early portion of December. I remember getting the Contemporary Tower for about $100 per night!

Also, the Magic Kingdom Gold Card offered many great discounts. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge when it first opened for about $125 per night. I thiink this was about a 50% discount off the standard rates at the time. Also stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge after it first opend in 2001. Tourism crashed in Florrida after 9/11. I booked the concierge level at AKL for that December at a incredible rate, something like 45% off!

Many years ago stayed two nights at All Stars Music for $37/night!

I should have booked it for two weeks instead of two nights.

2003
Why:
AP's paid and used in 2002 - so no cost for tickets in 2003.
1 week at CR with AAA rate - we paid for a garden wing room ($170/night) and was bumped to a tower room ($340/night)
Our DS & DD were 12 and under - still at the children's price at TS

Now we pay more DS is considered an adult - over 18 and DD is a teen.
So we pay $25 more a night for our DS and more for their food - they eat better and eat more :)

1975 :rotfl: in a room that is now one of the most expensive on Disney property. We were at the Polynesian in the building that is now CL on the lagoon side with a Magic Kingdom view for $68/night. Our kids were going on 5 & 7 then. It was so wonderful having them ready for bed and being able to watch the Electric Water Parade and fireworks from our balcony before putting them in bed for the night. Of course the Magic Kingdom was the only park back in those days but was not crowded in April (we took our daughter out of 1st grade for a week.) We ate one dinner at CRT which was called St. Stephens Dining Hall or something similar to that. Many happy memories for me.

A few years ago, my wife had a conference in Orlando, and I had Starwood points to cover our room at the Swan, so all we had to pay for was my flight, tickets, and food while we were there. Worked out well. :)

Last year Expedia had a deal book 4 nights get $150 back on prepaid mastercard (or visa dont remember)..

Basically my room cost $189 for 4 nights POP Century!!

Tickets we had left from a previous trip so we got off cheap!!

I think our trip in 09 totaled around $1400, including resort (pop), park and plane tickets, food, etc. We only had 2 TS meals (paid OOP) and CS everywhere else, and drinking around the world. That price also includes a day at Universal and dining at Citywalk.

Our 2011 trip was the least expensive. It was a last minute, budget trip. @e arrived New Year's Day and stayed for a week at All Star Sports. Had the quick service dining plan (for free) and we spent around $2000 (maybe $2100?) for everything ~ plane tickets, hotel, food (we paid OOP for Chef Mickey's) and souvineers.

1992 - conference at Yacht Club, so my flight and rental car covered, stayed extra 2 nights with DH, conference rate $149/night, had tickets left from prior trip, so his flight and food, total cost around $500 for a week.

1994 - $84 a night at Port Orleans (French Quarter), bldg 4 near the bus stop! (Amex Discount I think)

1995 - All-Star Music, $49 a night

Offsite, 5 days, $349 each for flight, rental car and room, plus tickets and food, probably $1,000 for the whole trip.

Around $4,900.00. That was our only stay in a moderate POR. Our children were all considered Disney "Children" when it came to ticket pricing and dining plan. We paid for room, dining plan, tickets and round trip air and travel insurance through CRO. Now, I don't want to say how much it costs!

my sister and i took my two (older--they were the only kids then) kids in June 2010. the current promotion was kids play/stay/eat free. we had a room at Pop Century with the QSDP and 7-day PH passes. the total trip was just under $2k for six nights/seven days. and since my sister and i split it, it was less than $1k each. :thumbsup2

the year before, we did a trip with my ILs, who are retired military. that was the year FIL got his ticket free and then up to five 5-day PH passes for $125 each. that trip was pretty cheap too. we split a FW cabin with a 40% off discount. it was a shorter trip though.

Well, this is our third (fourth?) trip with the military discount so we save 30% off a Value, 35% off a Mod and 40% off a Deluxe so we always get a good deal on our room and we add the DDP. Then we get the military tixs-$138 4 day hoppers this year so a great deal on tixs. All in all, it's a great deal no matter how long we go for. :thumbsup2

Around $4,900.00. That was our only stay in a moderate POR. Our children were all considered Disney "Children" when it came to ticket pricing and dining plan. We paid for room, dining plan, tickets and round trip air and travel insurance through CRO. Now, I don't want to say how much it costs!

Wow.. $4,900!! That's the least expensive trip?! How long did you guys stay at Disney, if you don't mind me asking. ...because that would be a luxurious trip for us! :lmao:

The most budget trip we ever did was back in 2000 when we stayed at the ASMovies for $49 a night. We just drove there and I think our car rental was around $200 a week with a complimentary upgrade to a luxury car (Cadillac).
Our children were both under 3, so the tickets were free. Our meal didn't cost as much because the children were under 3. We had to do an overnight hotel for $100 on the way there and another $100 on the way back. I'm not sure the exact total for this trip, but it was the most inexpensive trip.. Thanks to the $49 room discount and the simple fact that our children were both under 3. Too bad we can't turn back time and do it all over again. :)
