There has been some questions lately about favorite TV shows, and there have been a lot of different responses which include a lot of different shows. So I was wondering, with all these shows mentioned, just how much TV does the average peson watch each week (not the average kid, but the average adult).
So let's do a poll and find out.
Right now I watch about 11-15 hours of TV a week (mostly football), but after the NFL season is over, I will go back to about 1-3 hours a week. Most of the show that were mentioned on the TV show questions I have never seen, and don't really care to either.
So, since the NFL season is over (except for a few playoff games), I will vote for 1-3 hours a week.

I basically don't watch TV. If there is a good movie on or something along those lines I will watch it. I prefer to read.

I voted for 15 - 20 hours a week.

I watch 1 hour of news every morning as I DIS = 7 hours
Monday - Friday I watch 1 hour at night = 5 hours
Saturday and Sunday I watch about 2 hours each = 4 hours
All together that equal 16 hours
That sounds like alot, but I'm not sitting in front of the tv all the time:sad2:

I said 11-15. I was trying to think of all my MUST watch shows - my soaps alone take up 5 hours, and then there's House, Grey's, and a couple others, along with assorted stuff I surf into.

Yeah, 11-15 is probably right.:happytv:

I watch 3 shows regularly: Boston Legal, Grey's Anatomy, American Idol. Maybe a little more if you count watching TV while I'm cooking, watching news in the morning before work. Probably about 4-5 hours per week.

Other....for me it varies.

Esp. since I tape everything and watch it when I have time. Also I don't watch commercials anymore. An hour show is cut down!:thumbsup2 :lmao:

4-6
Lost: 1 hour
Heroes: 1 hour
Grey's Anatomy: 1 hour
and 15 minutes here and there for the news each day.

We watch three or four shows a night. (Using a DVR makes it so we can watch four hours of television in a little more than three hours, typically 6PM-9PM.) It's our single most effective escape from the stress of our jobs, these days. And the past two years or so have been among the best television ever presented during our lives. :thumbsup2

Very little...one of my main issues with my ex was that she wanted to spend most of her (thus, our) time watching the box... I feel lif'es too short for that. Sure, it has its place, but I'd rather be out walking the woods than watching someone else do it! And there's wayyyy too much 'reality' style tv on for my taste now.

Depends on if it's regular-season or repeats. At the moment, during regular-season, I watch Heroes, NCIS, Ghosthunters, and Doctor Who (with a little Criss Angel thrown in). During repeat season, I only put on the TV for background noise and really don't watch it. I'll put on Mythbusters or VH1 Classic or the Science Channel - or a DVD - but I'm pretty much doing other things and not paying close attention.

:happytv:
I watch:

Lost - 1 hr
Extreme Makeover Home Edition- 1 hr
I'm guessing about 2 to 3 hours a week watching other things (usually Designed to Sell, or another HGTV show. Ocasionally I'll watch What Not to Wear).

I don't watch re-runs, though, so it may be a little less.

We effectively don't watch TV, but I voted 1-3 hours a week, because we do have HGTV or the Food Network on sometime during most weeks or we use the TV to watch a DVD. But we've haven't seen a network show - in first run at least - in well over 20 years and we don't watch TV news at all.

I watch tons of TV mainly reality shows and sports especially hockey games. I usually knit in front of the TV so I feel more productive with all my TV watching!

My wife is kind of the same way. She watches a lot of TV, but at the same time she is doing five other things. Not me. If I do sit down to watch something, that is all I do.
