How much to tip at resort?

Just wondering how much we should tip each night at the POFQ for housekeeping. It will just be myself and DD.
I wanted to have the tip envelopes ready ahead of time. It's been awhile since I've been away so I'm unsure of an acceptable amount.

Lots of different routes here. Some people tip a dollar per person per day. Some will a set amount (like $10 or $20). Some don't tip at all. It's a matter of personal preference. I think it might make a difference how you tip on how you leave the rooms (i.e. if you leave it in a hot mess every day, bigger tip).

DH and I used to leave a tip at the end of our stay, but once we found out we had different maids over the course of our stay, we started leaving the daily envelopes. We usually tip $3 a day for the two of us and we keep our room very neat.

I typically do $3-$5 every other day, with us only asking for service on the days we tip. The days we don't want service, I hang the do not disturb sign on the door.

We are typically every neat and really don't need/want service every day.

We normally tip $5 per morning at the resort.
4 people in the room and we are neat and tidy.

Maybe because of the economy and us having to save for 5 years for our next WDW vacation, we will do $3 per day.

Thank you all for the answers. We are pretty neat when we leave the room for the day but I still plan on leaving a tip. I'll probably do $2-$3 per day. I like the per day idea rather than at the end of the stay since there may be a different person each day doing the room.
