We are on the deluxe dining plan for 8 nights. On average we have a sit down breakfast...mostly buffets and one sit down a night. We don't have any 2 credits except Luau, HDDR and CRT which all include tip. I think our most expensive meal looks like Coral Reef and possibly Chef Mickey's for Dinner. There will two adults and two children. I am wondering what people think I should budget for tips or some examples of what it spent others for the length of thier trip. Thanks!:thumbsup2 Oh by the way I probably mispelled thier...I cna never remember if it is ie or ei?? Or EIEIO!!

I'm assuming that means that your meals are about $30 - $40 a night, $20 for breakfast buffets. (This is for adults.) I would say if you have two meals a day, you can expect to tip $20 a day for the two adults, plus a little bit more for children, so I would budget around $200 for tips, maybe a little higher, since I'm not sure what you'll order, and I think my averages are a little on the low side.

Thanks. That at least gives me a starting point. I couldn't even come up with a figure.:confused3

and, with last year's inclusion of the appetizer, our 1TS credit meals averaged $70-$80 per meal. So, with no appie this year, I'm guestimating $50 - $60 per meal. I tip 20% most of the time unless service is really bad. So I'm over budgeting $15 per meal (gotta add in a few libations!) for 7 meals - $100 - $120 for tips for the trip.

Oh and BTW, it is "their" I before E except after C or when sounding like A as in neighbor and weigh!

We're doing deluxe with 2 adults 1 junior and 1 child for a 7 night stay and are planning on bringing about $350 in tips. We have 18 ADRs 3 of which are 2 credits (HDDR, CRT, & Narcoossee), 8 that are buffet/family style, and 7 that we order off the menu. I actually looked at menus and priced out what each of us would probably have and totaled our bills are each restaurant. At 18%, tips would be ~$325. At 20%, tips would be ~$360.

It's i before e except after c if that helps :rotfl:

Have you looked at the menus? Here is a link to the DIS Menus. It will give you an idea what the cost is for each location. It can also give you an idea what you might order (and if you have lots of free time on your hands, head over to the Food Porn thread to check out the yummy pictures!)

Here also is a thread to some of the popular threads on the board. There is a thread that has the food pics categorized to help you find favorites.

Tipping questions often get very heated here. Because of that, we now have one thread for all tipping questions. I am going to close this thread. If you have any more questions, please feel free toask them on this thread.

Thanks and hope you have a great trip!!
