It's been a while since we've gone to AK, so we can't remember how long we were in line before the shows (FOTLK, Nemo). We'll use FP for other stuff. How long do you have to be in line for those shows? Thanks in advance

Showing up 30 min prior is plenty of time.

Lion King is a smaller venue and is more popular, so I'd recommend showing up earlier there than you would Nemo.

Nemo is a big theater so you can show up 5-10 min before and get in. If you want a wide pick of seats then I'd be there 30+ min

We actually did a FP for Lion King and we were glad we did. Went about 20 minutes before the show and the line wasn't that long at all. We got in quickly.

It's really hard to gauge actual seating capacity as both theaters have bench seats, so they can squeeze in more, if they try.

Regardless, there is a stated capacity and it is 1,500 for Nemo, 1,450 for Lion King.
So, both theaters can seat (roughly) the same size crowd, give or take a few "squeezed-in" rows.

We showed up about 2 minutes before the show, all the stalls were full but they seated us right at the front (is this normally a VIP FP section?), is this fairly typical or did we just get lucky?

I'll guess that you mean at Lion King.
Those front seats are first priority for handicapped guests and their parties.
VIPs are also a factor there.
And, as was in your case, near the start of the show,
any remaining seats are filled
with some late-arrivers.

Yes sorry Lion King. It did work out great for us, my daughter got pulled up to be Lion as well. Guess it's a risky strategy though.

Good responses everyone. Does anyone think we need to change a fastpass for a show?
