How much time do you give yourself in the morning to get ready?

Up at 450. In the living room working out by 5:05. Done working out by 5:50. Stretch and ice my knee for a bit.

In the shower by 6:05 am. Blow dry and/or flat iron my hair, makeup, get dressed. While I'm doing that I'm waking up the kids, making DD's breakfast, packing her lunch and packing my lunch in between.

I leave by 7:25 am.

I do NOT like to rush in the morning. I like to have leisure time.

Before I stopped working I spent 20 years at a job where I wanted to be at work by 4:30AM. I'd get up around 3:30AM, or 3:20 if I was going to stop to get a bite to eat.
These days if I just need to "get ready" to go somewhere I'd like to have 30-40 minutes so I don't have to rush.

I am shocked at my friends who say they have to leave by 7:00 or even 7:30, but their alarm goes off at 5 because they need that much time to get some coffee, putz around, wake up, read the news, etc....

I have to leave at 6am. To me, that is really early. I get up around 5:30. My routine is easy: Get the coffee started, jump in the shower, get dressed, grab my coffee and maybe a bagel, and jump in the car and go.

I occasionally get up at 5:15 if I need a little extra time, but I don't go on the computer, or sit and have coffee, or anything else.

You?

If I'm showering, I need 30 minutes to get up, shower, get dressed and walk out the door. If I'm not going to take a shower, I can be out the door 15 minutes after the alarm goes off.

About an hour. I hit the snooze button a few times. It starts at 6:09 with the goal of actually being out of bed by 6:25 but sometimes it's closer to 6:40. Need to leave the house by 7:35-7:45 depending on who's riding with me. Depending on plans and schedules, I could be dropping off the kids at school and DH at his side job, or it could be just me. Actually we usually leave 7:40 regardless and if I have to do both drop-offs, I'm a few minutes late. Just can't ever seem to leave 5 minutes earlier. DD15 is the culprit most days. Perfect makeup takes time.

1/2 hour to 45 minutes, depending on how many times I have to go down the hall to get my kids moving in the morning.

I remember when I was a kid waking up early and seeing my Dad sitting at the kitchen table slowly working his way through a pot of strong, black coffee (and in the winter, with the oven on and the door open). He needed a LOT of time to get going in the morning. But he was a meat cutter who manhandled a couple of tons of meat daily and broke them down from sides of beef/pork into their component parts, so he couldn't just ease into his day like I can.

Me--I'm up at 6:30, walking the dog, showering, grabbing my stuff and out the door by 7:15 for an 8 am start.

I get up by 6:25 and out the door by 7. I shower at night, so in the morning, I style my hair, makeup, then get dressed and eat breakfast.

About 2.5 hours
  • I need my morning Disboards time
  • breakfast is an important meal.... don't have servants.... Need to cook it
  • I need to occasionally sleep in

Most days I don't have to be at work at any particular time, but I usually give myself at least an hour between waking up and leaving. I don't like to rush.

Up at 4:10am - shower, shave, pack lunch, get work clothes ready
Out the door at 4:30am for the gym
Leave the gym at 5:45am for work

You shower BEFORE working out at the gym???

I don't work anymore, but I feel like I have a part time job of hospital appointments. When I have to go anywhere, I try and allow an hour to get ready. A big chunk of that time is walking the dog, and then I have to bring him up to stay at my parents' house. He cannot stay home with my gram, because she could hurt him, or let him out... It probably takes me a half hour to shower, dress and dry my hair quickly. I don't wear makeup or anything.

What time do you need to leave the house? I would be getting up at 3:30am if I needed 2.5 hours.

I take a shower at night, which saves time in the morning. It takes me about 20 to 25 minutes to get ready. I get up between 6:00 am and 6:10 am Monday through Friday.

I get up around 6am, but I don't need to be at work until 8am.

I like to read the news and wake up in that time and also go for a quick walk/run before my shift starts.

I'll aim to leave the house by 7.20am and arrive at work by 7.35am, then I can do a quick work out before starting at 8am.

If I'm showering in the morning I need a solid 45 minutes to blow dry & straighten my hair.
Luckily I work from home three days a week so I only have to get up earlier Tues and Thurs

I always tell my hairdresser to make it a "wash and go" style. I have natural wave to my hair and as long as I have long layers, the cut works with my natural hair. By the time I get to work, it is almost dry on its own. I def. don't have time to do a blow dry and style.

I start at 7:30 am. I get up around 6 because I have 2 dogs to feed and let out and I want to give them some run-around time before they are crated for the morning. I come home at lunch time and they get to run around some more. They have me perfectly trained! LOL!

I can't believe how early everyone here gets up and works! I am usually up at 8:30, leave by 9:30 and get to the office at 10 (and I am often the first one from my team there). I'm not a morning person (or night person, really, I like to sleep). I do work until about 6:30 or 7.

I'm pretty low maintenance and typically know what I'm going to wear to work everyday.

On mornings when I go to the gym before work I have about 40 minutes to get ready. That includes making my lunch and dd's (yes, she's a hs senior & I make her lunch), running the dog outside, showering and getting dressed. I don't dry my hair and wear minimal makeup.

If I don't go to the gym I have more time but usually putter around. I don't spend more time getting ready.

Dd and I are out of the house between 7:20-7:30. I'm at work by 8. If I go to the gym I'm up between 4:15-4:30. If not I'm up around 5:30 or 6.

You're lucky! If I let mine naturally dry I look like Mufasa from the Lion King. Major frizz
