Hi I am going with a 13 month old and a 5 year old. How much sunscreen did you use in a week? Is a new bottle for each enough?

One bottle will be fine. I stupidly put ours in the diaper bag that I carried on the plane only to have to allow TSA to throw it out because it was above 3 oz  So we had to buy a can at disney for $13! I used 1/2 of it for the 4 of us for one week.

A dermatologist told me that for adults you require 1/2 cup for a proper application. Now I don't think I use that much but I am generous with it. Last year the 4 of went through 3 large 900ml (36oz ???) bottles over a 2 week trip. We also have the sunscreen stick to use on our faces.

Forgot.....when we go to the waterparks we use a baby SPF50....they are super thick and much more water resistant.

another good product to look into is sunscreen chapstick! your lips can get burned too and it HURTS! I found SPF 45 at our pharmacy, smells like coconuts.

We, three adults, took two spray on and one lotion bottle. Used up one spray on and only part of the lotion; we also had lotion specically for our faces.

Does the sunscreen make you feel worse in the humidity then if you didnt wear any?

I use Neutragena dry touch when its humid and you can't even tell you are wearing lotion. I haven't tried it in Florida but I like it better than traditional lotions that feel heavy.

I found that - with the exception of getting wet (water parks, splash mountain) that 3 applications per day worked out for us. First in the morning, lunch time and late afternoon.

I would say the two of us used about 1/3 a regular sized bottle in 3 days. We did not get one spot of sun on us.

Don't forget your the part in your hair unless you are wearing a hat all the time. Spray works well for this - we wore hats, tho.
