We get 10 per year. We can accumulate them from year to year as well, but it is sick leave and not vacation.

do you have to provide a doctors excuse for every sick day you use?

ETA: 10 sick days, 10 vacation days, and 10 holidays

No sick leave. I just get 5 weeks of paid time off to use for whatever reason.

I get 12 days sick/personal leave and then 14 days vacation. I like the fact that it is sick and personal so no notes are ever required.

As of Jan 1st, I get 5 days sick, 5 days personal and 10 days vacation. Not a bad deal considering I just started last week!

I get 96 hours sick leave per year (which works out to 12 days). I can use up to half of that for "family leave" to care for family members (parent, child, spouse, grandparent.) It carries over each year if not used.

My vacation time is completely separate from sick leave.

I get 12 days per year, need a doc's note if 3 days or more in a row are taken. We can bank them, I have about 65 banked since I've been here 7 years and am hardly sick. I can use them for a paid maternity leave (if/when the time comes for that! ;) ).

Paid sick time? None.
Paid vacation? 5 days per year.
Paid personal time? None.

I work at a pharmacy for a major retailer and have worked there several years.

My DH used to work for a company for over 20 years. When the jobsite closed he had 6 weeks of paid vacation, holiday pay, and a bonus.

Now he has..
Paid sick time? None. You miss work you don't get paid.
Paid vacation? 6 days per year.
Paid personal time? None.

He's worked at a construction company for 5 years now.

I'm self employed...so no work, no pay. It's one of the worst things about being self employed...any sick day or vacations are unpaid. :guilty:

when i was working i receive 12 days per year of sick leave, but you could use your sick, cto, managment time or vacation to cover sick leave as well. since i received 4 weeks vacation, 3 days floating and 50 hours of management time it was'nt too much of a problem. but if you were going to be out longer than 2 weeks you had to apply for state disability insurance and 'buy back' your sick leave. the advantage to this being that if someone had a long term illness/injury rather than exhausting all their accruals it kept them in 'pay status' which linked them to our employer keeping them on health insurance. sick and cto rolled over year to year with no cap, vacation rolled up to 3 times your yearly accruals, float and managment had to be used in the calendar year it was received.

unless you were going to be out for more than a week no med note was needed except in those cases where an employee had been put on formal notice (along with their union) that a med note was required for all illness absences.

In the job I started when leaving school: 26 vacation days, unlimited sick days (doctor's certificate needed)
The job I'm going to start in January: 32 vacation days, unlimited sick days (with doctor's certificate) + holidays that are on a weekend can be "recycled" during the year (don't know the correct word for the "recycled")

I get per year:

18 sick days(we can accumulate up to 100)
16 vacation days (I accumulate an additional day up until I reach 5 weeks)
13 paid holidays
3 personal days

10 vacation days, 5 "incidental" days. DS has at least twice that number of days off school during the school year, when he is perfectly healthy. Needless to say, I work when I am sick. :guilty: I do usually work from home if I am contagious though.

We accrue sick leave at the rate of 8 hours for each calendar month of employment, or 96 hours per year, up to a maximum of 720 hours. After 720 hours we receive a check for 50% of the time once a year (in December) based on our current salary. I have over 600 hours right now.

I get 39 weeks paid sick leave per year. That is seperate from vacation and holidays.

In my position, I get 20 vacation days per year. In addition, the offices are closed the week between Christmas and New Years, so it's really five weeks per year. I can accrue up to 50 vacation days in my bank, then I lose anything over that.

For sick time, I get 22 sick days per year, and we can accrue 120 days before we start to lose it. I have been at the 120 day limit for sick time for a while (though I am on a sick day today, blah!). I've never been asked to provide doctors notes for the times I have been out on a longish illness (the flu, pneumonia, etc.) but I always get a note anyway, as they are entitled to ask for it.

My place is closed on all the federal holidays too, plus Patriots Day.

I get per year:

11 sick days (unlimited number so they never expire after each year)
16 vacation days (stop accuring once I would get 3 years of time (48 days for me) - which is never a problem since I use them)
10 paid holidays
