My Dh and I have been talking abut extending our stay and making it a full week's trip instead of 4 days. I was going to take $450 for food for 4 days for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 3 and 5. How much would I need for a 7 days trip? I was thinking about signing up for the MYW package with dining option but the Cm said I would have to make a new reservation..and it would probably cost more that way because I used the bdp code and its expired now. Also, what is the cheapest price for Seaworld tickets? Thanks so much!

The amount of $$$ that you'll need for food will depend on your dining habits and expectations. If you plan to do character breakfasts and sitdown dinners, the costs can really mount. If you plan to bring breakfast foods with you, counterservice dinners and sharing meals, you'll need much less.

For your family, the MYW dining options would cost $90 per day ($35/adult and $10/child per day). With it, you would get one sitdown meal, one counterservice meal and one snack each day. This would bring the food budget for a 6-night/7-day stay to $540. To me, this sounds like a good deal as long as it doesn't mean that your room rate will increase dramatically as a result of changing from a room-only ressie to a package.

Now, if your kids are not big eaters or less tolerant of sitting through a meal that includes appetizers and dessert, you might want to be more flexible with your dining plans. Check the menus at AllEarsNet.com to see what is offered at the various WDW dining establishments and what the meals cost. Don't forget that the tax in the food will be 6.5% and that you should add a gratuity for your server at sitdown restaurants. Sharing meals is allowed at most venues, with the exception of dinner shows like Hoop-de-doo and buffets.

My own personal experience has been that my family of 4 (DH, DD14, DS12 and myself) spend about $125 per day on food. We usually grab a quick breakfast, do a sitdown lunch and then do counterservice dinners. I use the meal vouchers to help bring down the costs. We share 2 adult vouchers at lunch and suppliment the meal with additional entrées and beverages. We never go hungry.

With regards to the SeaWorld tickets, the best price is the 20% discount that SouthWest Airline Rapid Rewards members get at the gate. You can join Rapid Rewards at Southwest.com - Rapid Rewards . Just show your card at the gate for your discount.

Thanks mad4the mouse! We plan to have breakfast in our rooms everyday except one of the days. We want to have one character breakfast and probably 3-4 of the days will be sitdown late lunch/dinners. I'm hoping we can get in on this dining plan and not have to pay extra for our hotel. Good thing, January 2nd is not too far from now.

We were there 10 days, 3 at disney parks, for te 10 days we spent 200.00 at the grocery store, and took our sandwiches, drinks and chips, cooked dinner and breakfast in our villa, ate out maybe twice, but it can get expensive

How much you spend on food, really depends on so many factors, as aka-madforthemouse stated. We are a family of 3 (2 adults, 1 11 yo boy) and we spend between $700-$900 per week on food when at WDW. We always eat one full service and one counter service meal per day. We may order dessert or an appetizer, often just one/two for our table to share, with our full service meal. We generally have a light breakfast (muffin, fruit, etc) in the parks, or in our room (if we have opted for a grocery stop). That amount also covers snacks and drinks in the parks, and we tend to go through a lot of drinks (if we were more budget-minded we would bring our water bottles from home and save a bundle).

We will have a fridge in our room. We plan to eat breakfast in our room everyday except one of the days, plus snacks for the parks and water bottles. We will have a fast food/counter service, and 4 of the 6 days at a sitdown restaurant. My kids could probably share food off our plates. But, if we can get the myw dining then that would be really good. Maybe, eating out of the world would be cheaper, huh?

I have 4 Q and c vouchers for sale just want what i paid for them and shipping

Thanks for posting this question. We were thinking of budgeting $100 a day for our family of four (dh, me, dd 8 yrs, and ds 6 yrs). My dh and ds have pretty hefty appetites, however, my dd and I are alike because if we're doing a lot of walking, we tend to eat less. We will eat breakfast in our room (poptarts, muffins, cereal, etc). One of the problems I am facing is that my dh now wants to fly instead of drive (we can fly for free because dh works for an airline), and originally when we were driving, I was planning on bringing our electric cooler and groceries. Now, we will have to either pay for a fridge, or buy a cooler while there and go on a grocery run. We were not intending on renting a car. Any tips? Thanks.
