How much luggage?

What luggage should I need for a 7 day dec. cruise and 4 day trip to WDW for 2 adults and 3 children?

I was planning:
2 backpacks for carry ons:1 for me, 1 for kids gadgets/hw
2 large duffel backpacks
1 garmet bag

I'm not the lightest packer, but not the heaviest either.

What did you pack in your carrry on for flight?

We had 4 checked bags - 1 26", 2 22"s and 1 18". We also had DS's backpack (tiny w/gameboy and leapster + assorted kid items), my rolling laptop bag with books to read, medicines, etc. and Dh's backpack w/video camera and camera

We were gone for 14 nights however! 2 nights pre-cruise, the cruise, 3 nights post-cruise in FL and 2 in Tx

Your trip sounds the same length as ours. Would you say the size of each case was about right? What I mean is, would three med. and one sm. case be better than 2 lrg. cases?

Can your kids pull the medium cases? My DS is 7 and he did fine w/the medium case and DD (5) pulled the small one. This was from the car to the airport during checkin and then from luggage claim to the shuttle bus at the other end. As long as your kids can help out a bit, I would go for smaller pieces as you don't usually have the weight restriction issue!

When we combine a WDW visit before and/or after a Disney Cruise, if we have a rental car that we leave at the Port, we then put in the trunk and luggage or items that we can live without on the cruise. I try to pack as light as possible, though you would be fooled if you saw me and the family with all our bags, lol.

I bring one suitcase for me, my daughter has one of those small kids ones with wheels that she takes with all her stuff, and one carry on with her meds and nebulizer in it. This time my mom is coming with us so she will have one suitcase too.
