The 6 include...

1 senior
2 adults
3 children (1-6 yrs and 2-5 yrs)

I am handling airfare separately so don't include that ( we already have 3 free tickets, :goodvibes thanks southwest!! and hope to earn one more before time to go and will pay for two)

The time of the trip planned is off season 2009 mid feb to 1st week in march.

Length of trip is short..thurs, fri, sat and sunday.

we would want 3 day passes planning on going to disneyland thur and fri then dca on sat.

thanks for helping START a budget for this trip. i like to have everything saved before we go.

And are there any character meals in the park?:wizard:

Thank You for helping me, i really appreciate it!

minnies brekfest at plaza inn is a grate charcter meal. Good food grate interaction.
Where are you staying? (have you checked hojos. they may be avalible for your stay with the ent rate. (59-79-disney view)) night. If there not or it dosent seem to suite your needs call desert inn (the earlyer the better) you could get a suiet for less then 100 a night)
if your doing a package with disney company including hotle. check out camolot inn (room 404 had view of fire works when my son was falling asleep)

Umm if getting a package from disney could be more excpincve. but if you are going piece by piece check out Getawaytoday.com for charcter meals or for tickets i think 130 for a 3day hopper (i could be completly off)

Here's my plan/budget:
1 senior
me
DS 14
going for 6 days 5 nights staying at HoJos
HoJos cost will be $640.28 (this includes tax)
Rental car is $136 I got a $100 gift cert. from AMEX using points
Three 3 day parkhoppers for $507
I figure I'll spend about $475 for gasoline I'm driving 1640 miles roundtrip
I am budgeting $75 a day for food grand total $450 for six days of eating out. We will be taking cereal, milk, bread, luncheon meats, pb&j, fruit, carrots, celery, and water. And the usual junk food items we can't live without. A few of our meals will be breakfast in our room and sack lunches. I plan on doing Goofy's Kitchen once and some CS meals, and maybe BB for lunch.
Grand Total: $2108.28 this does not include souvenirs.

I have $900 from the economic stimulus check
$435 from an old savings account I didn't know I had
$144 gift cert. from Disney Visa Card
$25 gift cert. from Cheesecake Factory (from AMEX reward points)
$100 gift cert. for the rental car (from AMEX reward points)
The rest is going on my DV credit card.

I will be driving us :drive: to DL in only 6 more days.

we are taking the bus to LA and then a taxi to anihim for about 70dollers. the bus for the three of us will be 250 all together

100 suviners in the disney outlet store if they have good things.
50-food (vons)
200-out to eat food-in park)
goofys kicthen dinner (best dinner) 3 charcter brekfeasts -chip dale, minnes and ariels..330 +32x2-pics at charcter meals)
59dollers photopass cd.
i know theres more but i guess i cant think today lol

For our family of 5
2 adults
1 tween (12)
2 littles (4, 6)

Hotel - $59/night + tax - 5 nights ~ $350 (HoJo)
Hotel - half-way point so we're not too tired ~ $60/night $150
Tickets - 3 adult 5-day hoppers and 2 kids 5-day hoppers ~ $900 (might add a 6th day for $5 each!!)
Food - ~ $500 We will eat breakfast in our room. So just lunch and dinner
Gas - under $200 because we get great mileage in our car.
Souvenirs - don't really spend a lot on souvies. But we do like the Warehouse store!

About $2100 for our family. That's a high estimate.

We went in March with all 6 of us and flew, rented a car, had 5 day hoppers (5 for the price of 3), had breakfast at the hotel, drove and parked at DLR ($12 parking fee), ate meals in the park and surrounding area and spent less than $2400.

Okay we only have 4 in our family but here was our trip in June:

Annual Passes- $1000
6 nights at Park Vue Inn- $666
Gas- $200
Food- $300~ ate cont. breakfast at hotel, shared meals and at offsite a couple of times (Used $70 DRD)
Souvies- kids each had $40 of their own money

Total- $2200

I had saved $500 in our Disney jar, $700 in ebay sales, $120 in coins that I cashed in and $100 in Disney Reward Money, brought $350 in cash, rest went on Credit card to be paid when bill came due= not to shabby at all!!

Trip planned for Oct-

Using annual passes- $0 for this trip
Hotel -2 nights at Hojo ent rate- $59 each nite, 3 nights at inlaws timeshare- $0
Gas- $230
Food- Breakfast will be brought and eaten in our room. Will eat at hotel timeshare 2 nights (they offer bbq nite for $5 each, wine and cheese night for free) offsite 1-2 other nights, lunch in the park 3 days. I have $60 in Disney Reward Dollars to use. We will be seeing some other places outside of the park on 2 of those days. Estimate for food- $200 including snacks purchased in the park.

Mickeys Trick-or-Treat Party $100
Souvies- Kids can bring their allowance money. I usually just buy a charm for my bracelet or a magnet for the fridge.

Total $680

Forgot to add that we already have $300 saved in our Mickey jar for Oct trip and $60 in Disney Reward Money + however much more in DRD we get between now and when we leave.

Might have a yard sale in Sept to make some more $$!!

Wow, where did the weekend go?

I want a Do Over, how about you!

JadeDarkStar, thank you for the tip on Minnie's Breakfast at Plaza Inn.
I hope You have a happy trip and travel safe:cutie:

Love the Goof, Thank You for the breakdown. I need to make a chart like that.
Where did you get your park hoppers? I got mine through disney last feb. i want to look at costco.

Brady's Mom, Hiiiiiiiii! Good to see You
again:goodvibes i was figuring between 2500 and 3500. You stayed at the DLH? How far is it to the park?

Since i am starting early on this march trip perhaps with a good rate i could stay on site. hhmmmmmm...

kkmcan, Wow! i am inspired by your organized fund raising. Thanks for posting the info. I am going to do some of those things.popcorn::

Gas- $200
Gas- $230
We are going in December from AZ, you think its only going to be $230 round trip for gas? I thought we would spend way more, but you probably don't drive a Yukon (family of 7).

fairykin - Sadly, no! We didn't stay at DLH. Maybe someday I can talk myself into the inflated prices. But I haven't been able to yet! We stayed in Garden Grove and had to drive in everyday. I will certainly not do that again! We are staying at HoJo this time and I am looking forward to walking over to the parks as soon as I am ready. Everyone else can keep up, OR ELSE! :rolleyes1

We are thinking about a yard sale for the rest of our money. I am leaning towards Craigs list for some of our bigger items. I think we might get a little more money that way.

getawaytoday.com is where we will get park hoppers and might be trying to do aps when we are there

I just did the gas calculator and it shows $227 for our Nissan Xterra. We were thinking of renting a car that gets good gas mileage but that would be more $$ and we would probably come out even in the end. DH says that we'll save wear and tear on our car though. We seem to have to replace tires a lot and that adds up so hmmmm.....

We are a family of 5 going, (2 adults and 3 kiddos). We are going halloween weekend (Thursday-Monday), going into the parks (Friday-Sunday). This is about how I figured it:

$317.40 hotel (4 nights)
$148 Mickeys Trick or Treat Party
$278 2 child 3day hoppers
$169 1 adult 3 day hopper
$70 1 adult single day, single park
$0 little guy
$0 2 comp tickets from work (hoppers)
$200 on gas (hopefully less, but I doubt it)
$25/week on Disney Gift card to spend on food and souvies=approx. $800 by time of trip.

Grand total $1982.40 (I love being a CM:goodvibes ) On our souvies, we will also be receiving 35% off of our purchases with my ID card, that just means more stuff!!!! ( I am trying to keep our total under $2000, so far doing good)

wow Lots of Good planning. :cheer2:

I think it's lovely all the work each of you put into planning a trip that makes happy memories for Your families!:grouphug:

Good wishes sent for safe travel!
:goodvibes

Airfare from Seatte to LAX $716
6 day Parkhoppers $736
HoJo (Ent Rate 2 nights) $898
Airport Transfers $128
Food Budget $800 (probably WAY too much)

$2,562 + whatever souveneirs we buy

** these are all U.S. prices, still have to convert it to Canadian, but the dollar is almost par, so....the conversion isn't really much.

Above the line is what I already paid for or purchased, Below the line is what I am budgeting (if that's what you can call it) ;) $100/meal is what I average since counter service will be > $100 and sit down meals will be < $100.
