Hi all

Hols are turning intoa very expensive item for families. We went, 2 adults, 2 children (1 under 3 at the time) to ASM for 18 nights in April 2002 in total it was 3500.00 + about 2k in spending so almost 5,500.00.

We went to Euro Disney the following year (wife was preggers coulndt fly) for 4 nights with spending at hotel Cheyenne it cost nearly 1800.00.

Tunisia all inclusive 2 adults, 2 children and 1 infant, last August for 2 weeks, with a bit of spending 3300.00

Cuba (just this August) 2 Adults 2 Children 1 infant all inclusive 3 weeks plus excursions and a few odds and sods 5500.00

Almost 17k in just over 3 years, bloody hell it is really costing a bomb for families.

The Disney one next year for the five of us, is easily going to run into 6000.00

The cost of travel from the uk nowadays seems ridiculous.

worked out for next year may california flight for 4 £1600 car 2 weeks £250 4 nights disney (stay 4 pay for 3 offer) £613 DLH. Knots berry 2 nights £230 Vagas 4 nights £300 4 nights disney (stay 4 pay for 3 offer) £550 PPH food £1400 tickets £500 total about £5500 as the offer is not on for next year for the disney hotels might pay more but new offers will come out after xmas so should be about the same .When we go to WDW we pay a lot less flight about the same but as aug say £1800 car £250 as in dvc hotel is dues of £480 a year ( paid fot its self as been 6 times dvc) food £1000 tickets got old one so nothing to pay so say about £3500

My parents are coming with us so this is price per person, as some things we went 50/50 like carhire & villa
This is ours for our family of 5 for 2 weeks.
Flying with United via Washington both ways. £405.00 each total £2835.
Direct travel insurance total £54.00 each £10.50 (my parents sorted their own out)
Car hire We went 50/50 Total for 8 seater with UScarhire £398 including unlimited drivers & all costs. Therefore we paid £199 total, each = £39.80.
5 bed Villa including pool heat total 1150. We went 50/50 so we paid 575.00
each = £115.00
14 days unlimited Disney from Attraction ticket direct, each £158.00.
Total for our family of 5 is £3011
then dog in kennels £128
airport parking £137
GRAND TOTAL £3276 or each £655.20 for a fortnight!
PS You also save money whilst on holiday, utility costs, food shopping etc

got the flights to california from travelocity on AA you have to watch everyday as on expedia but dont think you will be able to get the same now due to the spike in fuel prices for the august trip we will be able to book at the end of this month (you can book 11 months from the return date )always have a price in mind and if it gets neer to it book it so for aug we are looking for £1800 so fingers crossed
