I'd like to budget for a Cinderella dress for our 4 year old while at Disney in few weeks. I'm guessing there are options (I've heard a "deluxe" costume mentioned). We can't make it Downtown/to the BBB this trip, just MK and MGM. Any suggestions on where in these 2 parks we might be able to buy one and what the cost options are and what the deal is with accessories would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I just bought one on clearance fom disneyshoppingdotcom. I also saw them at Toys R Usdotcom on sale.

I bought a minnie mouse custume for my daughter to Halloween from the Disney store....the quality was excellent. I would try the clearence section on line. I'm sure if you want until you get to Disney you will have to pay full price.

We bought one while down there from the gift shop at ASM, the official one. The dress was $60, the little cape was $20 and I believe the shoes were about $20 as well. They had the glove/tiara combo but we didn't purchase that.

I purchased all of my girl's dresses at the Disney Store after Halloween for like $20 each. I could never find the shoes in their sizes though. So, I thought I'd just buy the coordinating shoes at WDW when we arrived. The shoes were $30 for each pair. Which I couldn't believe, but I had to get the shoes for all 3 of my girls for the Pirate & Princess Party in Feb. $100 on shoes was way more than I had wanted to spend, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I remember looking at the dresses but the prices were way too much at DTD. So, I would try to find something before going to Disney unless you don't mind spending that much. I probably wouldn't care if I didn't have to do everything times three. Good Luck!!!!

We paid $85 each for the dress below. We got it at World of Disney.

I bought DD's Cindy dress at Target for $17.99 she wore it 2 times at Disney, and wore it for her princess b-day party when she was 5 and has worn it several times since and it has held up , not one tear or snag in it yet. We just bought some really pretty white dress shoes and put white tights on her and my mom bought her the crown at Walmart for like $7.99...

I wouldn't drop $85-$100 on something she will not use often, but that is just me!!!

We did this too and I actually found the best selection at Mouse Gear in EPCOT and at the Emporium on Main Street if you can't get to DTD. I'd budget about $60-$90 dollars for the dress and another $50 or so if you want to buy accessories. You can definitely get it cheaper in other ways as other posters have said, but to me it was just really fun to let her get one there, you will find things you can't find anywhere else and the quality is really good. I also find that my DD complains about the cheaper ones itching, something she's never complained about with her DW one. My DD was the same age when we got hers and she wore it for Halloween and a princess birthday party and then at home for dress-up a lot, so I found it worth the money myself. If your daughter is into playing dress up a lot you will definitely get your money's worth. I also plan on saving it for her so if she has her own daughter one day she can pass it down. Since we planned for it in our budget I was fine with spending the money.

Thanks everyone. My daughter, does, in fact, LOVE to play dress up and have 2 large bins FULL of dress-up clothes. She has a Jasmine & Ariel costume already as well as about a dozen other types from a fireman to a dog or clown. I know if we invest the money it'll get used as Cinderella is like God to her! I just didn't wnat her to see others wearing them, ask and have us say, sure, we'll get you one later only to find out it's our of our league! We'll probablly budgey accordinly. Yes, i could get her one elsewhere, but it wasn't sopmething I wanted her to wear AT Disney, but rather something she could get as a souviner to take home with us, so buying there makes more sense (for us). Thanks everyone, I appreciate it!

The cinderella costume (79.99 - although i think this is the adult one) and cinderella delux wedding dress costume (84.99 - kids) are both on sale now at disneyshopping.com for 39.99.

I was debating going with these -
http://www.myfancyprincess.com/ciprdrupco.html 25.00 or this
http://www.myfancyprincess.com/diciprdrco.html 49.95

They even have matching doll ones for $14

but the birthday money got spent on a nintendo ds instead. I'm still considering ordering some of the doll ones.

I would strongly suggest for shoes you find something comfortable that will work with the costume rather than buy costume shoes if she will be wearing them in the park/meals for any amount of walking at all. Costume soes are horrible for walking in.

Thanks for the websites!! Cute dresses. We are going end of June '07 and I made a Cinderella dress for my older daughter a couple of years ago. Your website has a netting underslip "accessory" to give fullness to the skirt. I thought that it might be fun to take the dress with this year for my 7yr old and the little slip will be perfect. Thanks!!! (I just hope it's not TOO hot for her!)

I understand that OP wants to purchase the dress at Disney. But I wanted to plug My Dress Up Trunk again! I got DD's Cinderella dress there for $20. It is gorgeous, soft, light, and not at all scratchy. She has sensitive skin, so this is an issue for us. I also purchased a crinoline slip from there to add some pouf to the dress. DD loves her Cinderella dress!

Here she is:

Ohhh....she's so sweet!! How cute!! You can tell by her smile she IS a princess. Those shoes look comfy too!! Are they flats with a flexible bottom?? It's kinda hard to tell. When did you go to Disney?? Was she too hot in the dress and could she move around easily for rides and such??

Aww, thanks. :lovestruc Yes, she is my little princess. She is currently flitting around the house in all of her Jasmine finery! princess: I got the shoes from an Ebay seller. Let me see if I can find her again... Here it is: http://search.ebay.com/search/searc...saprchi=&seller=1&sass=lindaqxl&fsop=1&fsoo=1

DD did not wear the shoes everywhere. I made her wear sneakers most of the time. We were just there in January, so it wasn't hot, but we did have a few 80 degree days. She wore princess dresses for 3 entire days - through the parks, character meals, and the BBB.

FYI: There are some similar glitter shoes at Target right now.

thanks everyone!
Mama-your daughter's pics are BEAUTIFUL! I remember reading a post for the BBB a while back and seeing those same pics (and more if i recall) and i actually reemeber because she's so pretty! thankd for your post, I'll check out the site you recomended. We go down to Orlando every spring and plan on a full BBB thing NEXT year, so I'm not sure what we'll do now. Maybe buy a dress as a souvenier THIS year and hope it fits (and is in decent condition) to bring back with us NEXT year.
A question (since I recall you did the BBB thing)...
I'd hate to get the BBB thing done late in the day and not get much use out of it. But also, we usually only do Disney in the parks for 2 days of our annual trip and don't get hoppers, so what do you think we should do to make the most of the BBB? I was thinking maybe do BBB on a non-park morning and then plan to go to a specail lunch or dinner (at a resort maybe?) with her dressed up. What do you think? (for the record, I think girls dresses up IN the parks is adorable, I'm just not sure it's right for our daughter, plus we like to maximize our park time open to close since we usually only get 2 days there.

1900 Park Fare at Grand Floridian has a Cinderella character dinner. This is where we took my dd all dressed up as Cindy.

Thanks for your kind words. Here is what we did for the BBB. It was actually dd's 5th birthday (January 10th), so we went to MK first thing that morning for breakfast at CRT. Then we did the park til lunch (it was a lovely quiet day too!) Then we went back to the resort to get my little one down for a nap. We were at POFQ, so DD and I took the ferry over to DDT @ 2pm for a 3pm BBB appointment. (It was a surprise, but she had seen other little girls all dolled up and knew what it was. She was soooo excited!) We got there early, and she was taken to her fairy godmother immediately. We just did the cheapest package - no nails, but she loved it! Once we were done, we went over to guest relations and did a PhotoPass photo shoot, which she loved. I was surprised because she is pretty shy, but she totally hammed it up. What helped was that we had a female photographer. When we finished there, we went back to the World of Disney to shop in the Princess Room. DH and DD 1.5 met up with us there. We spent about an hour there, and then hopped on a bus for her birthday dinner with Cinderella at the Grand Floridian (6pm ADR.) So she was all dolled up for that. She went to bed with her hair still in place, and it stayed in for the entire next day as well. (We did the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot, so that was nice!)

Here are picts:
