How Much Do You Ladies Charge to Haunt the Castle? -- Departure Day up (See index

Far behind again. These days I'm lucky to get on the DIS on the weekend.
The t-shirts for the bday trip are fabulous! Where did you have them done?

I'll wish you luck in keeping the secret. I know it's terribly hard to do. Mark does a great booty dance! Does he do that with all the characters or is Eeyore special?

Oh and Pat. You can drink me under the table any day! LOL

Looks like you guys had lots of fun in Epcot!

Nice score to get to ride Soarin' three times! I love that ride and it's one of only two rides Mom mentioned wanting to make sure we ride this time.

I would be so bummed to find the Manatee area closed! I love watching them.

I just wanted to say that your DH reminds me so much of my Dad who passed away in 2007. I could easily see him trying on all the hats and playing right along with the kids in the Figment area!

Nope...... :rotfl2:

Was Marv with you? :lmao::lmao::lmao: Seriously, I can't figure out who you are talking about.

No worries...stop in when you can.

I had the t-shirts done through Zazzle.

Nope, Eeyore is his favorite (well, after Dumbo and there is no Dumbo walking around) and it was just a spur of the moment thing.

We did have a lot of fun. I love Soarin' too.

I really wish I knew why they were blocked off that day...I hope one of them didn't die. We did see several manatees later in the trip when we were at Marco Island for the week.

That is so sweet that my DH reminds you of your dad. :goodvibes My dad passed away in 2008 and I miss him every day.

After we finished trying on hats, it was time to hit the World Showcase. I love this part of Epcot and could just spend an entire day here. Unfortunately, we only had an afternoon and evening to get everything done we wanted to do. Would we succeed? Unfortunately, not, but we did get a lot done.

We decided this year to start via Mexico.

Day3September182012080.jpg

I love this pavillion...so many colors and so "festive"

Day3September182012082.jpg

Day3September182012081.jpg

I decided that since I am a Princess, I should have a tiara.

Day3September182012084.jpg

Howevr, we didn't buy it because it hurt my head and the price hurt my wallet. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

As long as we were there and there wasn't anybody in line, we decided to do the Gran Fiesta and get it over with.

And, just like it's counterpart at the MK, It's a Slow Boat to China (otherwise known as It's a Small World), we got stuck at the end...for 10 minutes we did not move. :scared1:

We stared at this for those 10 minutes:

Day3September182012097.jpg

We went into the marketplace to look around and, as we do every year, had to get Mark in one of these:

Day3September182012099.jpg

We have one of the two of us...but it is very blurry. They now have a photopass photographer walking around in there (or he was there for another reason which you will see in a moment) and he took the picture with my camera and his...you'll have to wait for the photopass CD to come to see the two of us.

Mark tried on another hat

Day3September182012102.jpg

We peeked in here

Day3September182012101.jpg

Nope...we didn't go in; neither Mark or I drink tequila and we were on a mission so no time to stop.

A few pictures around the marketplace:

Day3September182012104.jpg

We were now ready to move on. And as we approached the exit we saw all these people standing about, shaking off water, wearing ponchos, etc. You guessed it...it was pouring. The skies literally opened and we stood in that entryway for 40 minutes.

Continued in next post

After 40 minutes, the rain finally eased up enough, that we put on our ponchos and headed out. There were many numerous puddles to try to avoid so that our feet would not be soaking wet.

We were both hungry for some lunch so we stopped in Norway and headed into Kringla Bakeri og Cafe.

Mark and I shared the Ham sandwich, toasted. Let me just tell you that this was AWESOME...very tasty and loved having it toasted and warm (especially with the rain):

Day3September182012105.jpg

Mark got some fruit and, although I don't have a picture, I think I got some chips:

Day3September182012107.jpg

Mark said the fruit was very fresh.

We then shared this bad boy for dessert...it gives the Chocolate on Chocolate Whiskey Cake at LeCellier a run for it's money...it was heavenly:

After we ate, it was still raining...not hard, but enough that we wanted to get inside somewhere quick, so we ran over to:

Day3September182012108.jpg

Day3September182012109.jpg

The rain must have chased a lot of people out of World Showcase because we had the entire boat to ourselves.

Dump shop time (gee, what a surprise):

They weren't even showing the film today. :confused3

Back outside, and the rain had eased up to an annoying drizzle.

Okay...one of my guys needs something at the office. I'll be back later to continue our tour of World Showcase.

Up next on our country tour, would be China.

Day3September182012138.jpg

We had just missed the start of the movie and decided not to wait. So we walked through the shops and stopped for this annual picture:

We had purposesly shared lunch so that we could have a few snacks as we walked through WS. We stopped in China and had the potstickers and a diet coke to share.

Day3September182012128.jpg

And what did we think of the potstickers? They were not very good at all...very dry and the pork did NOT taste like pork at all. Lesson learned...we won't stop again.

Next up was Germany and one of Mark's favorite things...the train:

And did some window shopping:

And Mark had to have a beer in Germany before we could go any further:

Italy would be our next stop...one of my favorite's in WS.

Day3September182012165.jpg

Unfortunately, because of the rain, we saw no street performers this day.

And, then it was our home country:

We stopped to listen to the spectacular, Voices of Liberty (we could just sit here show after show):

Then it was up the escalator for The American Adventure:

Again, because of the rain, no drummers. :(

Up next, Morocco and the rest of WS

I am digging the WS hats :thumbsup2

Very nice pics of the countries Kathy :flower3:

Loved the World Tour !!I really want to spend a lot of time in the Countires when I do the Grannie Trip !!! It is hard to spend as much time as I would like with 8 guys in tow !! They do however enjoy trying on Hats:rotfl2:

Forgot to mention !!Kyle really enjoys the Drummers in Japan , we have a hard time getting him to leave as once is not enough !!!

My husband loves the drummers as well!

ASMU/POR Dec 16-22, 2012 & POFQ Sept 8-15, 2013

As long as we were there and there wasn't anybody in line, we decided to do the Gran Fiesta and get it over with.

Wel, when you put it that way, how could anyone resist? :rotfl2:

And, just like it's counterpart at the MK, It's a Slow Boat to China (otherwise known as It's a Small World), we got stuck at the end...for 10 minutes we did not move. :scared1:

 So I guess it wasn't worth the 0-minute wait after all.

I'm very much enjoying the hat tour! Looks to me like the rains kept the crowds away so you could blitz through all of the countries!

way to crank out the WS updates! bummer about the rain and not getting to see the street performers....lunch and dessert looks yummy....and oh the caramel shop, could spend all day and lots of $$ there :goodvibes
love to see you getting into the hat trying on fun too Kathy!

Loved the world tour!!! Looks like your rainy day was as lovely as our rainy day in Epcot. :(

It seems that every time I want to spend more time in WS, it's too hot or too crowded or too wet - one of these days, I really hope to take it all in.

D~

Oh and Pat. You can drink me under the table any day! LOL

:lmao: I thought I got a good pour but you must have gotten a heavy pour.
:lmao:

Was Marv with you? :lmao::lmao::lmao: Seriously, I can't figure out who you are talking about.

Marv a crankypuss about a special Birthday diver???? Nah I think he would love it even if he didn't love the number he was turning. Really too bad they are not doing that anymore.
Kathy I would call anyway just in case they are doing it again just to be sure.

That was EX-DH. It was all I could do to even keep him sitting there. Who knew he had Singabirthdaysongaphobia. He was afraid they were going to sing. Nope just a special menu and diver to flash a sign. YEESH.
Yet another reason he is EX-DH :lmao:

Love all the different hats around the WS. Sorry the rain dampened the fun some. And thanks for saving me from trying the pot stickers myself and finding them to be sub-par. :thumbsup2

Sorry it was a light and annoying rain. But good that WS emptied out and you could wander without everyone.
Bad news that the rain, prevented a full effect.

Just think the next time you go back the WS holiday storytellers will be there. :goodvibes

Great pictures of the "world"

Wow! You are Miss update machine today! ;)

I love your walk around the world and all those things you tried along the way. :goodvibes
Mark is an awesome hat model I have to say. We take lots of hat photos too, but you will have to wait for the Christmas calendar again to see them all. :rotfl2:

Can you imagine that out of all the movies they show we have only seen the French one :rolleyes1 and the one in Canada. :rotfl2:
Plus I have NEVER seen the stone figures at China - guess we will need to take more time at WS pretty soon.

Thanks for all the photos Kathy, I loved all the updates.

Oh Kathy I forgot to tell you the P&P trip to Chicago end of October went very well while there !!Patti actually did the trip as her son is in school in Chicago, turns out flights were cancelled coming back due to Sandy and they had to rent a Budget van and drive back:sad::scared1:
