How Much Do You Ladies Charge to Haunt the Castle? -- Departure Day up (See index

Crazy update lady! :goodvibes

I'm so happy your mom is home and no longer on crazy amounts of meds.

Looooove all the hat pics, especially your rainbow hat!! :lmao: I literally laughed out loud when I saw it, you looked so cute and happy in that picture, a pure pixie dust moment. pixiedust:

Loving all the updates, can't wait to see more!! :yay:

I think you have me beat at updating more and faster! :lmao: You are super woman I must say. Lovin' the hats again. The one from EE is definitely the best by far! The gift basket was such a nice gesture. Disfriends are some of the best friends. :grouphug:

We just barely missed ya'll on the September trip.

WOW!!! I don't even know where to begin with all those updates.

I am glad your mom is home, and her meds are regulated - what an insane amount of meds to be on! I am so glad the Dr.s/nurses were able to figure it out.

Some day I hope to do more than 1 trip per year - however - thinking in terms of TRs... Wow, I am not sure I could handle it. LOL Bravo to you!

Loved all the pictures, loved all the hats... That blue hair is TDF - I have a picture of my dd somewhere wearing that one on our last trip - it was so comical.

It was so amazing seeing Devine when we were there - she is really captivating - I just coudn't look away... My girls were pulling me on to the next thing, and I just had to stand there and watch.

I hope you are able to finish this TR in time to start a PTR for your next one - as I am anxious to hear all about it!

D~

Yes, I doubt we'll make it to CHH in December either. We have part of a day there and part of that will be taken up with our dining at Be Our Guest, and then we are doing the party on Sunday night.

Oooo, Be Our Guest!!! How exciting! I can't wait to hear about it!
We're thinking of doing the party Sunday night too! Haven't gotten tickets yet, but we're pretty sure.

Kathy I'm so glad to hear that your mom is home and doing better! That's so crazy that she had so many meds that no one was monitoring! Sounds like that entire episode was avoidable. :sad2:

Your MK day looks like it was filled with so many of my favorites and if I'd of guessed Dumbo was Mark's choice to start the day I would have been a winner!! You crazy kids sound like you are a ton of fun to enjoy the parks with it is good to be so young at heart! :rotfl:

That was a very nice gift from your Dis friends!

Loved your photo collection of the animals on safari. :)

yay AK! Its my favorite park, so I always love to see pictures from there, especially of the safari! :goodvibes

I know that the gorillas are a DIS favorite, but honestly, they creep me out a little. They are just SO human in their expressions, interactions and movements that its weird to see them in a zoo enclosure.

Interested to see where lunch will take you, there are plenty of good choices at AK!

Thanks; getting her home was fine, getting her prescriptions another story. Walgreens was slammed because CVS's computers were down so they were ALL at Walgreens. But she's settled in and getting adjusted to being home.

I love that umbrella hat...it just cracked me up.

CHH is one of the best counter services in all four parks if you ask me; I'm glad you liked it.

The basket from the Disgirls...how wonderful! DIS friends rock :goodvibes

Glad you survived the pharmacy, and Mom is readjusting to home

I am not a huge fan of EE, I always feel "jerked about"...but I love walking thought the line with all the Yeti stuff :cool2:

Oh my...the Gorilla pic :scared: :lmao:

CHH is DEFINITELY a new fave of mine Kathy!!!!

You are the Queen of Updates...YOU GO GIRL :flower3:

Kathy,

Great job getting up and out. :yay:

You got a lot done.

Oh no! Not a fan of EE? I made my Marc ride it three times in a row a couple of weeks ago, then he told me that he was feeling a little ick to his stomach. So we stopped...

and went to the Dawa bar so I could have a breakfast drink. At that point I had to go back to our resort and take a nap.

I'm anxious to see how Disney takes care of you for your problems at OKW. We had problems with our club level stay at Jambo last summer. They sent us over to Beach Club and upgraded our villa, but they didn't give us access to the club level there.
Anyway we had a call from the Jambo manager when we got home and yes, they are comping us a stay there at the end of May. So I know that they can make some magic for you! I just hope they do it!

You dropped after that drink???? :rotfl: I think I wandered a bit more and then hit the pool. :lmao:

I am glad Disney is making your AKL visit right. :goodvibes

I know she is a MACHINE!!!!!

When on a roll..... ;)

:cool1::cool1: Glad to hear she is doing better.

Thank you

:cool1::cool1: Love it - I will be able to see it in person in January.

Mark thought I was nuts photographing a garbage can.

Loving the hat pictures and the separate mini TR in DHS. I would ride ToT with you!!!!!!!

I would love to do TOT with you. :goodvibes

Need to make my way back to CHH. Just haven't been there in a while.

Always good food.

The Storybook Circus area and the New Fantasyland area look great.

I can't wait to see it again in December.

Kat I'm rooting for you in losing weight. Over this past year I have joined Weight Watchers and hooked up with a local fitness club. I have gone from weighing 267 pounds last October to now weighing 154 pounds for a total loss of 113 pounds and have exceeded my goal. Eating right and exercising has made a difference. With you also having a challenge and accountability with others you will rock this thing.

I have a saying I tell myself and hope you can use it as well. "I CAN, I WILL." :thumbsup2

Thanks, friend. You are an inspiration. GOOD FOR YOU!!!! You should be so proud.

Wow, that was some picture heavy updating!

Can't go wrong with an evening in MK. I look forward to seeing the new Fantasyland additions in person.

I'm sorry that your secret Wishes spot was more crowded than ordinary, but at least you were still able to see the show.

That really was a nice surprise for you guys at the room. Very generous of them.:thumbsup2

You are going to love the Dumbo area.

It was very sweet of my DIS friends.

It never dawned on me that there was more than one DeVine, as this is definitely NOT the same one I saw in February.

Your AK day definitely started nicely. I love EE and KS. :goodvibes

I have seen two or three different DeVines now...all equally enchanting.

Great updates! Finally all caught up. And I just realized we share the same state.
Sorry to read about the problems you've had with your mom and her meds. Seems a lot of us here on the Dis have parents with dementia. My mom also is struggling with this now. It is a hard place to be in. You have my complete understanding. I think the support received here from friends in this "box" is amazing. Some days it is what helps to keep it all together.

Where in Illinois are you?

The DIS support is nothing short of amazing. I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

Mission accomplished and it was time for the dump shop:

Day2September172012008.jpg

This must be the best "hat" yet :cool1:

I'm glad you liked the hat. :goodvibes

Not a very pleasant view there was it? He must be impersonating a human male. :rotfl2:

That says a lot coming from a "human male." :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Love the AK pics!

Thanks, Tink.

Looks like y'all were getting a lot accomplished that morning at AK, even if you didn't make it to RD! :thumbsup2

Love all the safari & trail pictures....especially the gorillas!

Holy mother of updates!

Not ever sure where to start lol! So glad CHH helped make up for your meh lunch. Looks like a fun night at the MK and a great morning at MK. Favorite hat picture so far has to be the yeti? If that's what the heck that hair thing is that is in the picture you send to the boys. either that or punk rock hair with the teeniest tiniest hat I've ever seen. I have no idea what it's supposed to be but it's hysterical!

Very impressive to make it there by 8:20 after such a late night, well done!

Looks like a gorgeous morning for a safari ride!

CHH was yummy. We had a great night at MK and a good start to our morning at AK. I'm not sure what that purple thing was...but it cracked me up seeing Mark in it.

Oh no! Not a fan of EE? I made my Marc ride it three times in a row a couple of weeks ago, then he told me that he was feeling a little ick to his stomach. So we stopped...

Nope, not a fan of EE; I used to be, and then I got OLD. :lmao::lmao:

I really don't think there will be anything else done but the $75 credit, but that is fine with me.

You are posting like a mad dog. I love it.

You have had some fun times already. The hat pictures are hilarious, but blue hair is the best!

I just LOVED your divine picture .....so much so I took it and play with it a bit. I hope you don't mind.

divine.jpg

Jen, I love what you did the DeVine picture. :thumbsup2

Great updates. :)

Thanks, Trac.

Crazy update lady! :goodvibes

Thanks, Camille. Awww...thanks, glad you enjoyed my rainbow hat. :)

We are both working at a record pace on our updates. :goodvibes

I agree...DIS friends are some of the best.

I'm hoping to rectify the "near miss" in September with seeing you in December.

Another great update...well updates!! I love CHH...we ate there last spring and it was very good, especially for counter service.

That basket was so nice of your DisFriends!! I think some of the nicest people I have ever known are from the disboards...wonderful people with a love of all things Disney.

BTW...Loved the save the date card...so cute!!

WOW!!! I don't even know where to begin with all those updates.

I am glad your mom is home, and her meds are regulated - what an insane amount of meds to be on! I am so glad the Dr.s/nurses were able to figure it out.

I blame her doctor; I've learned that any little thing she complains about, he writes a prescription. :confused3

Some day I hope to do more than 1 trip per year - however - thinking in terms of TRs... Wow, I am not sure I could handle it. LOL Bravo to you!

It's been touch at times doing a TR and keeping my PTR up to date too.

Loved all the pictures, loved all the hats... That blue hair is TDF - I have a picture of my dd somewhere wearing that one on our last trip - it was so comical.

That hat just had me in stitches...so funny, and especially on my hubby.

It was so amazing seeing Devine when we were there - she is really captivating - I just coudn't look away... My girls were pulling me on to the next thing, and I just had to stand there and watch.

I find myself not wanting to leave either...I just want to admire her.

I hope you are able to finish this TR in time to start a PTR for your next one - as I am anxious to hear all about it!

D~

I've got the PTR going; I want to get this TR done before we leave in December though.

Oooo, Be Our Guest!!! How exciting! I can't wait to hear about it!
We're thinking of doing the party Sunday night too! Haven't gotten tickets yet, but we're pretty sure.

That was a hectic day when Nic got our BOG ADR's...but she did it!

Let me know if you do it Sunday night and we'll try and say hello.

Kathy I'm so glad to hear that your mom is home and doing better! That's so crazy that she had so many meds that no one was monitoring! Sounds like that entire episode was avoidable. :sad2:

She is definitely getting a NEW doctor.

Your MK day looks like it was filled with so many of my favorites and if I'd of guessed Dumbo was Mark's choice to start the day I would have been a winner!! You crazy kids sound like you are a ton of fun to enjoy the parks with it is good to be so young at heart! :rotfl:

He does love his Dumbo. Yes, we are crazy kids at Disney.

That was a very nice gift from your Dis friends!

It was very sweet of them and great snacks in the afternoon.

Loved your photo collection of the animals on safari. :)

Thank you. :goodvibes

AK has really grown on us over the years and I want to spend two 1/2 days there in August.

I can see the "creeping" out part...especially when they make a face like my husband. ;)

Lunch was a new experience for us.

CHH is DEFINITELY a new fave of mine Kathy!!!!

You are the Queen of Updates...YOU GO GIRL :flower3:

DIS friends definitely do rock!

Mom doing great; I stopped and saw her yesterday and she was doing really well adjusting to being home.

I'm glad you like CHH too.

Thanks...determined to get this done by the end of next month.

Kathy,

Great job getting up and out. :yay:

You got a lot done.

We still had more to go, but we did get a lot done in the morning.

Another great update...well updates!! I love CHH...we ate there last spring and it was very good, especially for counter service.

Thanks...CHH has always been a favorite, and I'm glad you tried and enjoyed.

Yes, there are a lot of wonderful people here on the DIS and I've made some great new friends.

Thanks...glad you like the Save the Date card...I think they did a great job with it.

Wow, you are an updating machine! Okay, I'm caught up, but I will admit that I "skimmed" a little. :rotfl2:

You guys have to hold the record for hat pictures!

I like Mark's shirt that he wore on your DHS day, that has Mickey on an ostrich. Cool! :thumbsup2

They do in fact still have a Cowboy side to The Great Movie Ride. Don't ask me how I know.

Thanks for the pictures of Storybook Circus. I hadn't seen the splash area before, such a great idea to have it be elephants shooting water from train cars! Those imagineers!

Great pictures on the safari too. :thumbsup2

Great updates Kathy! I am seriously needing a kick in the butt ... you're on a roll girl! Loved them all!

Thank you, Queen. I wanted to do another one or two last night, but Photobucket was giving me fits.

Wow, you are an updating machine! Okay, I'm caught up, but I will admit that I "skimmed" a little. :rotfl2:

Seriously? :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

You guys have to hold the record for hat pictures!

And to think Mark almost gave up the hat poses. ;)

I like Mark's shirt that he wore on your DHS day, that has Mickey on an ostrich. Cool! :thumbsup2

He got that shirt last year and wears it ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

They do in fact still have a Cowboy side to The Great Movie Ride. Don't ask me how I know.

Does this mean you ALWAYS get the Cowboy?

Thanks for the pictures of Storybook Circus. I hadn't seen the splash area before, such a great idea to have it be elephants shooting water from train cars! Those imagineers!

I just think that whole area is really neat for the kids, young and old.

Great pictures on the safari too. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Glenn.

Before I move on to the rest of our day at the AK, I wanted to share the "final" Save the Date card the kids ordered for the wedding. They'll be mailed out right after Christmas, and I think they turned out great:

savethedate.jpg

So when we last left you, we were headed to a meal and the first time for the restaurant. We were headed here:

Day2September172012062.jpg

Yes, yes, I know...you are all saying where is "here?" I forgot to take a picture at the entrance because it was so crowded. We were having breakfast at the Tusker House.

We had a seat and they told us they'd call us when our table was ready.

Day2September172012063.jpg

We thought of getting in line to see Donald, but it was quite long and decided against it. Not three minutes after we sat down, our name was called and we were lead to our table. We were in the very back of a room. But this turned out to be perfect as we could see the kids dancing around.

Our waiter came and took our drink orders, explained the character route and told us to go up to the buffet whenever we were ready. No need to tell us twice...we were starving.

My first plate(s):

Mark's first plate:

While we were gone, our waiter had gone to get us coffee and juice (this juice is almost as good as the stuff at Boma...but not quite there):

Mark's second plate:

Day2September172012070.jpg

Shortly after Mark got his second plate, the characters started to circulate in our area. First up, Marv...oops, I mean, Goofy:

Then the main mouse:

No picture of me with Mickey...it turned out awful and I am NOT posting it.

Then, last but not least, the beautiful Daisy came to say hello:

Day2September172012075.jpg

We really enjoyed this breakfast and will try to do this at least once every other year (sorry, I can't give up my Crystal Palace and we cannot continue to do three or four buffets in one year as I gained too much weight on this trip).

We settled up the bill and I took a few pictures as we left the restaurant:

From there, we headed toward Dinoland. But just before Dinoland is MY favorite part of the AK. Can you guess what it is? Well, I'll tell you....in the next post.

Continued in next post

You are on an updating roll woman! You two were acting like a couple of teenagers at the Magic Kingdom...seeing and doing everything you could until you just couldn't go any more.

Even though you didn't get to the Animal Kingdom as early as you would have liked to, it doesn't seem to have been a problem. From the looks of the safari pictures, the animals were out and about that morning. :thumbsup2
