How Much Do You Ladies Charge to Haunt the Castle? -- Departure Day up (See index

The pictures of Mark (and you!) in the different hats seriously make me :rotfl2:

Wow, a 3rd Dismeet already, and only on your second day! Great that you got some pictures from her :goodvibes Can't wait to see where you headed to that evening! :thumbsup2

I am glad that we can make our DIS friends laugh. :)

Yes, 3 Dismeets...but, alas, it would be our last. I did look for a few others that I knew were there while we were in the parks, but never saw anyone else.

You are just NOT going to make catching up easy are you??? :faint:

Nope, I do enjoy making your life miserable. :lmao::lmao::lmao: (P.S. you know I love you)

I'm with Mark on the ride choice :thumbsup2

I laughed out loud at the Grumpy hat with the beard, that's awesome :rotfl:

They do indeed still run the cowboy side! I get the gangster ALL.THE.TIME. so last trip I asked if they were running both scenes, we had to wait a bit, but we got the cowboy.

Well, Michelle, I think we should coordinate the next trip and you can do it with him. ;) Seriously, I am no good for at least an hour or two if I do Rock&Roll.

I never thought to ask about the Cowboy; I'll have to do that next trip.

Great update. I have never seen a fan hat!!! Solar powered?! I bet JJ would love one of those!

I bet you JJ would love it too!

You guys look fantastic! Love all the pictures! Everytime I see Mark modeling hats I think to myself that I really to need more attention when I'm there because so many I have never seen;)

Thanks, Queen...you are very sweet. Disney needs to work on getting NEW hats...we've totally run out of new ones to try after this trip.

Ooooh I love the fan hat! Gotta get me one of those! I like the view from your patio too :thumbsup2

Suzi, I bet you that your son would love that hat. But he might like the one coming up in the next update even better. :cool2:

Loving your hat photos !! Looking forward to reading more !!

Thanks, Susan.

Love your shirts...so cute!

Haven't taken the family to 50's PTC yet but I think they will love it. Sadly, I have heard less than wonderful reviews about the food lately.

Thank you, friend. 50's PTC is great for the theme and the interaction if you get a good "uncle" or "aunt"; the food gets mixed reviews.

I just adore marks hat pics! Jack has a hat habit S does Kayla.... Although she puts them on others! Lol especially her little brother!

Oh my god at 42 days!!! I can not wait for that update!! He's a lucky guy!!

That's what big sisters are for. :lmao::lmao::lmao: I love seeing Jack in the hats.

Yep, down to 41...it's going to be here before I know it.

Glad y'all got to go to y'alls favorite rides! :thumbsup2

I love the hat Mark is modeling with the little fan on it!

:woohoo: for another DIS meet! Can't wait to see the Photopass pictures!

I love TOT; Mark is just leery of it after his neck surgery. At least with R&R, he knows the ride; TOT is so unpredictable.

I saw that fan hat in Disneyland and sent the picture to my friend. She is always walking around with one of those fans, so she got a kick out of the hat. The derby hat actually suits Mark really well! He should get it on his surprise trip!

The derby hat does suit him, doesn't it. Perhaps they'll have a Christmas one I can buy him when we are there soon.

I have never seen about 70% of the awesome hats that you guys find and model! Love them, love them, love them. I think I need to form the Mark's Funny Hat Appreciation Society. :rotfl:

Too bad you missed BatB, but it sounds like you needed to take a rest. The best part is that you can see it in 43 days!!:goodvibes

Mark thought that was very sweet that you wanted to start the Society for him.

I'm not sure we'll have time for B&B in December...so little time and so much Christmas stuff to do. I'm sure if we go in June (us girls), we will see it then.

That's gonna be awesome. Can't wait to hear how it goes.

I'm hoping Andy (or Des) can get it on video when we do the big reveal.

:sad2:

Why would you be sad at your favorite ride, Mark? ;)

Check you out, getting in on the hat picture action! :thumbsup2

Hey, he can't have ALL the fun.

I don't know, but I'm not willing to ride it enough to find out.

It does need an overhaul of some sort.

Cool!

It was extra sweet having photos taking by someone we've met on the DIS!

You could have at least tried it on.

That would have been an interesting one.

I remember seeing that fan hat at the Emporium. Dave tried it on and was really thinking hard about getting it! We convinced him a t-shirt might be a little more fashionable. :rotfl2:

Smart decision. :lmao::lmao:

:goodvibes I am thankful Mark hasn't given the hat pics up! They are fabulous, I hope we can meet up one of these days, you both seem like so much fun :cheer2:

I would love to meet up...I hope our trips "cross" at some point.

LOVE the solar fan hat...:flower3:

That was a first for seeing that one.

No worries catching up with my TR...too many changes, I can't keep up...for now POR Royal Room (my first moderate since a bad experience at CBR duing cheer nationals years ago)

I AM getting caught up this weekend...I promise!

Mind you, I am a firm believer there's no such thing as a BAD WDW trip, some are just "bumpier" than others ;)

I could NOT agree more with that. Any trip to WDW is a good one because you are in "your happy place"; but, like real life, there is a bump along the way on occasion.

more great hat shots....that fan hat is interesting!
:thumbsup2 for your "solo-mini trip" :thumbsup2do what you like and everyone is happy!

I missed an attraction later in the trip that I love to do because Mark won't do it anymore and I was really mad at myself for NOT doing it.

You are one brave woman to go on Tower of Terror by yourself. I have my arm wrapped around John the entire time.

I have never seen most of those hats that you and Mark modeled. Wonder if they are new?

I love TOT...it really is my favorite ride (although I will hold on to the handle).

I think some of the hats are new, but not all of them. But we have literally run out of hats for him to try on.

i hope you bought the fan hat, that was awesome.:thumbsup2

Nope, didn't purchase it.

Yes! So fun!!
I'll be following along to see if we were ever in the same area! And it looks like we'll be there again the same time in December!

I saw your ticker and that you'll be there when we are. I'll have to link my PTR here so you can see where we are each day in December (we'll be with Nicki the entire time) and maybe we can say hello. :goodvibes

Yay for Tower of Terror...and RnRC, even though you didn't ride it! :rotfl: 2 of my favorites!

Haha, I love all of the hat pictures...soon Disney is going to run out of hats for you guys to take pictures in!

How nice that you got to meet a DIS'er who works in Disney! Ahhh, that's my dream someday, just packing up and moving to Disney!

If I were a LOT younger, I'd probably still like RnRC.

I think Disney has run out of hats. :scared:

Hopefully in three years we will be moving to Disney.

 Great News!!!!!

Thanks, Marv.

Let me know your dates and we can try to meet up maybe at a different pak if you have limited time at the studios :goodvibes

I will be in touch with you before we go and give you our rundown (or send you link to my PTR where I will post final plans).

wonderful news :dance3:

Thank you, Lisa. :goodvibes

First, an update on my mom. We brought her home last night. She has early signs of dementia, but we found out the reason she became volatile and was hitting people is she was on 14 medications, including 4 different anti-depressants. They have her medications regulated and she is doing much better. She's actually eating and gained weight. She still has trouble sleeping at night, but she is calm and that is a good thing. Thank you for all the prayers and good wishes.

Okay, here we go...I've got to get this puppy going. We are still on Day 1 and I have 13 to go after that and just 41 days to get it all done in. :scared:

So when I last left you, we had gone back to OKW for Mark to take a little nap, I downloaded all my pictures from the first part of our day and changed clothes (it had been hot earlier at the Studios and I definitely needed a fresh top).

Before getting on our bus (which arrived in less than five minutes once again), I took a picture for Poolrat (Pat):

Day1Part2September16001.jpg

We hopped on the bus and in approximately twelve minutes, we pulled up, walked to the entrance and had our first photopass picture (and this one is from my camera) of Park 2 taken:

Day1Part2September16002.jpg

Yes, we were at my favorite park -- Magic Kingdom -- for evening Extra Magic Hours. :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Day1Part2September16003.jpg

We walked in and the first place Mark wanted to go was:

Day1Part2September16005-Copy.jpg

He really had an excuse, or so he said. He wanted to buy something for his former assistant's little boy and was thinking of a hat. He couldn't find anything he liked for Junior, but had fun trying on a hat or two and having me look natural as MaryAz would say in my hat:

Day1Part2September16006.jpg

Day1Part2September16007-Copy.jpg

Before we could do any attractions, we had to eat...we were both starving. We hadn't eaten since our ADR at 11:30 at 50's PT and neither of us had finished that meal. We went to Cosmic Ray's the last two trips, so decided to ggo back to an old time favorite:

Day1Part2September16011.jpg

I had my favorite, the fried shrimp:

Day1Part2September16008-Copy.jpg

Mark decided to try something new this year that is talked about on the DIS a lot, the Anchors Aweigh sandwich:

Day1Part2September16009-Copy.jpg

He loved it and declared it a new favorite. His came with:

Day1Part2September16010.jpg

After having a good meal, it was time to hit the attractions. First up is a favorite of many:

Day1Part2September16012.jpg

Day1Part2September16013.jpg

Day1Part2September16014.jpg

Day1Part2September16015.jpg

After our ride with hitchhiking ghosts, I asked Mark where he wanted to go. He told me whatever I wanted to do was fine. Except I know my husband, and he was itching to go somewhere in particular but just wouldn't say.

How many of you can guess where we were headed?

Continued in next post

I could NOT agree more with that. Any trip to WDW is a good one because you are in "your happy place"; but, like real life, there is a bump along the way on occasion. Such a happy place!!!!!!!! That's why I love he DIS so much, peeps who understand the warm, fuzzy WDWlove :flower3:

Hopefully in three years we will be moving to Disney. That is my dream..to one day move to WDW..if not I'll take a Florida Beach within a 2 hour drive, then I have an excuse to stay onsite ;)

Hope getting Mom home was smooth sailing for you Kathy!!!

ETA...you and I posted at the same time Holy Cow Polypharmacy!!! Glad they straightened out Mom's meds!

You know the umbrella hat is a really good idea, even if I would never wear it....LOL.

I tried CHH for the first time in August, thanks to recommendations from the DIS, and it is YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And where is it that Mark really, really wanted to go? Well, here, of course:

Day1Part2September16019.jpg

It was time to take a spin on Dumbo.

The new splash area (I get better pictures during the daytime later in the trip):

Day1Part2September16026-Copy.jpg

Day1Part2September16027-Copy.jpg

Day1Part2September16030.jpg

This area is so neat and it wasn't even finished when we were there. I can't wait to see it in December now that the Big Tent is open, etc.

From there, we left the area and decided to spin on some teacups:

Then one of our favorites:

Some photos while resting on the Peoplemover:

Day1Part2September16040.jpg

What shall we do now, dear?

I can't belive that your mother was on 14 different medications and that 4 of them were 4 different anti-depressants. I'm glad someone noticed it and got it regulated.

That the fried shrimp looks good.. What a great start to the day :)

DD8 told me she doesn't want to ride Dumbo ever again because she hates clowns and thinks Dumbo lookslike a carvinal now and it is freaking her out

So living the ride through you and Mark....

After resting our feet and enjoying the night air, it was time for Mark to once again throttle me on a ride:

Day1Part2September16045.jpg

Day1Part2September16049.jpg

Day1Part2September16052.jpg

Day1Part2September16053.jpg

Redneck photo:

Day1Part2September16054.jpg

Nope...no picture of the score this time...much too embarrassing.

We defeated the evil guys, and it was time for my first treat of the trip:

Day1Part2September16057.jpg

(I can't believe I posted that picture...I look terrible).

It was getting close to Wishes time, so we thought we'd go and find out new "special" spot to watch it near the Rose Garden. And, lo and behold, it seems the whole frickin' world found our special spot. It was so crowded, but we did find two spots for Mark and I to squeeze in and have a good view.

First some castle pictures:

Day1Part2September16058.jpg

Day1Part2September16059.jpg

The best job I ever did of getting Tink:

Day1Part2September16060.jpg

Now sit back and enjoy my poor attempt at Wishes:

Mark is young at heart even if he don't want to admit it by saying that he want to ride Dumbo. That is so cute :)

It was now time to get some serious ride-on. Let's head here, shall we?

Day1Part2September16099.jpg

First up, those dastardly pirates:

Day1Part2September16108.jpg

Day1Part2September16110.jpg

Day1Part2September16112.jpg

So hard to take pictures inside without a flash with my simple little camera:

Day1Part2September16117.jpg

Dump shop:

Day1Part2September16118.jpg

Day1Part2September16119.jpg

Day1Part2September16120.jpg

The line for Jungle Cruise was crazy as it was for the Carpets. So we decided to head over to:

Day1Part2September16121.jpg

And we were going to ride one of our all-time favorites:

Day1Part2September16125.jpg

The time said it was a 20 minute wait, but I think we waited less than ten minutes for our first ride:

Day1Part2September16128.jpg

Day1Part2September16129.jpg

It was still pretty crowded and we decided we'd done enough for our first full day and had an early morning the next morning so we should probably head "home" and get some sleep. A few pictures as we walked towards Main Street:

Day1Part2September16135.jpg

Day1Part2September16136.jpg

Day1Part2September16137.jpg

Day1Part2September16138.jpg

Day1Part2September16140.jpg

Day1Part2September16143.jpg

Our good bus mojo continued for us and a bus was pulling up just as we were getting there. And there was not ONE person waiting for the bus. We waited a few minutes and then were pulling out to head back to OKW.

We got to our room and found a surprise waiting for us.

Day1Part2September16144.jpg

This was a little something for Mark and I expressing sympathy on the loss of Mark's mom and wishing us a nice vacation:

Day1Part2September16146.jpg

This was from a group of girls I met on the DIS. The girls and I are in a little weight losing challenge together on Facebook (we all send in a certain amount for ten weeks and each week whoever loses the most weight receives a Disney gift card).

Girls, we were touched by your thoughtfulness and your caring. It meant the world to us. We enjoyed our basket of fruit and crackers and chocolates. Thank you so much...LOVE YOU!

So, that wraps up Day 1 of the Parks. Up next, Day 2 and a new dining experience.

Looks like y'all had a great night in MK! :thumbsup2

I love that hat witch you're wearing. It's really cute!

The new Storybook Circus area is so cute. When y'all go in December, definitely go check out the characters in Pete's Silly Sideshow. It's so well-themed & really cute!

Love your Wishes pictures!

That was so thoughtful of your DIS friends to send the basket!

I saw your ticker and that you'll be there when we are. I'll have to link my PTR here so you can see where we are each day in December (we'll be with Nicki the entire time) and maybe we can say hello. :goodvibes

Yes, can't wait to see! We just booked last week...Kind of a spur of the moment thing so we're still very much in the planning stages.

I really want to try Columbia Harbor House...its been on my list for a few years now and we still haven't been!

Glad your mom is home now. Does she have a visiting nurse or care taker?

I'm glad she is home too. I spoke to my brother a little bit ago; she had some trouble sleeping but I think she'll be fine when she gets into a routine. She really doesn't need a nurse or caretaker at this point; the staff at the hospital said she was doing great. She ate a big plate of lasagna when she got home last night and Bob said they talked and watched TV together and she was doing good.

Thanks; getting her home was fine, getting her prescriptions another story. Walgreens was slammed because CVS's computers were down so they were ALL at Walgreens. But she's settled in and getting adjusted to being home.

I love that umbrella hat...it just cracked me up.

CHH is one of the best counter services in all four parks if you ask me; I'm glad you liked it.

I can't belive that your mother was on 14 different medications and that 4 of them were 4 different anti-depressants. I'm glad someone noticed it and got it regulated.

That the fried shrimp looks good.. What a great start to the day :)

We are searching for a new doctor for her; I never did like the one she had and after this fiasco, she will NOT go back.

The shrimp there is very yummy.

DD8 told me she doesn't want to ride Dumbo ever again because she hates clowns and thinks Dumbo lookslike a carvinal now and it is freaking her out

So living the ride through you and Mark....

I hope DD8 changes her mind; maybe she will once she gets there. The Dumbo itself is fine and she will LOVE the play area (but bring extra clothes...she will get drenched).

Mark is young at heart even if he don't want to admit it by saying that he want to ride Dumbo. That is so cute :)

Mark's favorite saying is: "I may be getting older, but I REFUSE to grow up." He has the heart of a child at Disney...and at home sometimes.

We never miss a chance to ride Dumbo...it's a classic. :thumbsup2

Looks like y'all had a great night in MK! :thumbsup2

Thanks, Amanda. It was a great night. But I could not believe how crowded it still was at 11 p.m. I would think the little ones would need to be in bed. ;)

I can't wait to see the Silly Sideshow.

Those are some of the better Wishes pictures I've been able to capture.

Those girls are the best! And they've been a huge inspiration to me for losing some much needed weight.

Here's the link to my PTR (it started as the one for the September trip and then when we added the surprise trip in December for Mark's 60th birthday, it became a dual PTR): http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2935969

I will be posting to that PTR again soon, I hope. And I'll definitely be putting in our plans one more time. We are pretty set on where we are going, which dates, etc., and have all our ADR's.

You must go to CHH and try to snag a table upstairs by a window and you can people watch. It's a great place.

Awesome..thanks! I will head over there to read!

I've heard upstairs is awesome. I don't think we'll be making it over in December either. Our only MK day is for MVMCP and I believe it closes early, so we'd have to rush there right at 4. But who knows...maybe we will!

Looks like a great night at the Magic Kingdom. In the picture infront of the Big Thunder Mountain sign it looks like it's snowing.
What a nice gift from the DISisters :)

Nope...no picture of the score this time...much too embarrassing.

Embarrassing for Mark...right?? :rolleyes1

Yep, that umbrella hat is definitely coming home with Suzi next trip! Hmmm...maybe I can make that part of my MNSSHP costume....

Glad your Mom is doing better !! YAY for MK EMH !!! How nice that your friends sent you a gift !!

I keep meaning to try the Anchors Aweigh sandwich, but I always go back to the shrimp. It is isn't broke, don't fix it. So I go with what has worked for me in the past.

I LOVE the pictures of new Dumbo. I cannot wait to see it :goodvibes

Looks like you guys had a good time during your MK stop. I've never eating at CHH, and keep meaning to. I'll have to try this next trip, if I have time.
