Hi guys
I am trying to figure out what to budget per day while at Disney. We are doing the Dlx DDP and we will not have to buy any food, snack, etc....so I was just wondering what you guys budget and without having to buy food this time around, I was just curious :thumbsup2

hi. we're on the deluxe plan too. Normally, on the regular DP we would pay character breakfasts OOP and end up buying some extra snacks. SO i agree that w/ the deluxe it takes care of that added expense. I am just going to figure on buying a few bottles of water at the park each day, which cost $2. OHHHH, dont forget about tip (WISH IT WAS INCLUDED) so that's an extra cost per day. Other than tip and water, we wont be spending much more, maybe an occasional picture.

have fun

We're a family of four and visit Disney twice a year. We usually budget $250 a day for food and $100 for extras. Extras include pictures, souveniers and whatevers. Since you have Dlx DDP, you don't need to worry about the food, just the tips. And you can use your snack credits for sodas and such. So you basically just have to plan for souveniers and such.

We just went in June and noticed that the restaurant tickets had gratuity suggestions at the bottom. Usually 18% and 20%. For us, that was usually anywhere from 20-30 for our dinner.

DH and I always budget at least $100 per day..sometimes more, and we will be on the DxDDP. We always order a bottle of wine for dinner and need extra for tips. We have ADRs for 2 meals per day. We're planning for a TS breakfast or lunch and a signature rest. for dinner each day.
Plus we need extra spending money for the occasional beer or lemon citron slushie in Epcot.

me and my fiancee are budgetting around 75 bucks a day? Is this enough for lunch/dinner and snacks for two people?

We arn't big souvineer people, and not to worried about photos, so the 75 would be pretty much only for food/snacks/occasional drinks

My DW and I are going to Disney in September. We plan on spending $1k on tips, souveniers(not many), and don't forget the Drinks!!! We are planing a couple of nights out on the boardwalk, PI, and the Orleans. We don't have any kids and we don't plan to drive, so drinks will flow. Drinking around the world is planned for the first night.

Wow, I wish I had your budget. :-)

We have me, my wife, a 7 yo boy and a 5 yo boy.

We have a budget of about $110 a day. Now we only do 2 reservations at special restaurants which cost around $90 alone for the day and we pack cereal and breakfast bars for the mornings for breakfast and we pack flavor packets to flavor the water so we are not over spending on liquids since we are there in August. Most lunch/dinners are picked from special fast concession areas. We have saved a little more this year for souveniors.

I remember the days of less money for meals. :rotfl2: But I have two teens that are constantly eating. So we budget $25 for Breakfast, $75 for Lunch, and $150 for Dinner. Meals in the hotels are ala cart so you end up paying for each slice of bacon or egg for breakfast. We usually drive down and stop at Dunkin Donut for bagels or donuts and that usual breakfast. Lunch is in the parks and then we usually go to dinner at one of the Hotels. Ohana's and Park Fare is our favorite, and the $150 doesn't even cover our cost at these places.

DDP is the way to go if you can get it.

I got this from another site. Looks like the night life is about to change.

Pleasure Island, we hardly knew ye. By now, I'm certain you've all heard the news: On September 27, 2008, Pleasure Island will cease to exist as we know it today. Walt Disney World Resort announced on June 27 that it will be completely re-imagining the Downtown Disney area, with new shopping, dining and other experiences, including a completely re-imagined Pleasure Island.

Not quite 20 years old, Pleasure Island will close its six remaining nightclubs: Adventurer's Club, Comedy Warehouse, 8Trax, Mannequins Dance Palace, BET SoundStage Club, and Motion. These clubs are destined to be replaced by additional retail and dining establishments.

we are on the regular dining plan. its my husband and i plus 3 kids, 8,4 and 2.
i dont have a day to day budget but for the 6 days we are there im figuring on about $1800. and that includes the much needed rental car. so thats $1550 for in the parks.

I was just on the Platimun Plan back in April at the GF.
I do over estimate cause I don't want to be caught short.
We allowed for tips for bk,lu,din which my DH loves to make sure he gives a good tip so about $60 for that. He was a server back in the day .
Any Alcohol Bevg. I don't drink and 1 -2 drinks for DH ( Lu & din) not a big drinker so $20 for that. $10 for lu & $10 for din. Maid tip $5 a day.
When your on that plan you are not hungry. We couldn't even use up the snacks.
Also any thing you might want to buy and that depends on you. I do like to shop.
Have a great trip! It is an Awesome plan to be on :cool1: :thumbsup2

oh man, I think i'm over planning room ,tickets, and regular dining plan are already paid for . it's just me ,dw,& dd4 and i'll have $2500 for 5 days . should i bring that much?:thumbsup2

i would. i will bring whatever i save for the trip. i dont think it would be possible to bring too much. of course you dont have to spend it all.

Also another good idea for me which I always do. Whatever I have left over from the trip since I am an over estimater I put on the next trip. :cool1:
I figure I take it with the intention of spending it so why not. I am always going back! :rotfl2:

yea I guess you are right . We are leaving july 29th but DW already informed me that we are going back next vacation so I could just put any leftover money towards that one.we thought about other vacation destinations but I can't of many where a 5yo would enjoy.any ideas about that?:confused3

have you ever been to a great wolf lodge? i think the closest one to you would be texas, but it is so worth the trip. we drive 8 hours to go there every year. next to disney its the best vacation we've ever taken!

We will be getting the DDE with our AP's so I plan to make an envelope for each ADR and put in a minimum of $60 (may be more depending on the menu - which I will look at in advance) I will also have an envelope for the parks for each day we are there with $30. The idea is that what ever is left in the envelope at the end of the day is then added to the next day's envelope.
I am also making seperate envelopes for DS5 who has been earning and saving his money for the trip.

Our DD (now almost 7) loooooooved San Diego. We stayed oceanfront in Pacific Beach (a five-minute drive from Sea World -- we could see the fireworks in the distance at night). There's a GREAT zoo, a model railroad museum, "duck" tours (a bus that goes in the water), a "boardwalk" style amusement park nearby. The beach is great; the water is cold, but our hotel had a pool. We're going back next summer because it was so great!

Now. About this budget thing. Are you bringing traveler's checks? Or just using a Visa or Amex and keeping in mind how much you want to spend? After our room/ddp/rental car/airfare, I still have about $2,000 in my "budget", but I didn't plan on bringing more than about $300 in cash, for tips, etc. Everything else, I plan to charge.

One last thing -- we're saving all our spare change & $1 bills from now until we leave. That's going to be our DD7's spending money!

I was thinking of bringing $1000 cash "$300 for gas (were driving) $700 to see how far it goes" and leave $1500 in the bank where it's safe and use my debit card. I can always get cash off of it if I need it.:thumbsup2
