How much cash do you have on hand during your trip to WDW?

We leave tomorrow morning!!! We purchased Disney gift cards at BJs and have our magic bands for purchasing in the parks. I have Mousekeeping envelopes all set up with cash.

We are spending 3 days at Universal Studios and 1 day at Discover Cove as well.

How much *cash* should I be carrying? I'm sure I'll need it for some things!??! What's your best advice?

I carry very little cash. Just enough for small cash tips and the occasional time I might use a vending machine - maybe $20-25.

For a family of five, we carry $300 cash. I have no idea why we pick this number every year but we each carry $150. There are ATM's everywhere and 99% of places take credit card so I wouldn't be too concerned about carrying cash. We use it to tip housekeeping, airport personnel that help us, to give to our teens if they go off without us, and for parking.

A few hundred for us. It mostly stays in the safe once we arrive. I always carry about $40 and dh has a few dollars himself when we are at the parks. Never know when we might need a few dollars. cab, small tip, - kiosks that does not accept cc, etc.

We also have $300 in cash for a family of 6. I don't know why either? Just seems like it's not too little of an amount and not too much of an amount to carry around, lol.

Same here. We usually bring about $300 in cash. We also have our Rewards card and gift cards with another $300 or so. It depends on if we have FD.

very little....maybe $200 or so. The rest is all paid for via gift cards or CC's.

Don't forget small bills for the toll roads if you are driving any.

We fly and take ME and only have $100 in cash for the entire trip. This is used for tips and food at the airport. In the parks we don't carry any cash. Magicband everything to the room then go down with disney gift cards to pay on the acct every few days.

We bring $1,000, but lock most of it up in the safe. We pay cash for as much as possible when we vacation. Keeps DW from wigging out about the CC bill the next month LOL
Not WDW, but DL $1,000 too for a week for a family of 4. Worst Disney trip ever was with my cousin who brought no cash, family of 6, and for some reason she could not spend more than $100 a day on her debit card. She spent a lot of time on the phone trying to get that figured out, finally had to take a $1,500 cash advance on her credit card so they had money. I never heard what caused that.

I dont use my credit cards much on vacation because I rather have the piece of mind knowing that our vacation is paid for but depends of the kids are with us or not but for 4 of us for 12 days we generally bring aroumd $5000

We might have $80 total, 40 per adult. Just in case. I doubt we will use it, though. We will have our budget amount sitting in our savings account ready to pay the credit card bill, so everything we don't have gift cards for will go straight to the credit card.

We put everything on a credit card (gotta earn those Fidelity rewards). We also do the mousekeeping envelopes and I have an envelope for bellman/valet tips. I still feel like I need to have a little cash so I will take $40/day or so, but I seldom use it. That is all for WDW. We took a bit more cash for Universal (mainly for the butter beers), but we also used mostly CCs there. We do let the credit card company know before we travel so they understand not to suspend our account for suspicious charges.
Have a fantastic trip!!

I'd guess we'd carry essentially zero cash. We'll use our magic bands for everything. We don't normally tip housekeeping.

Actually, this trip were planning to get DSs first haircut at the barber shop so we'll carry cash for a tip there. That'll definitely be the only cash we carry into a park.

This is what I take for our 8 day trip. Most of it is used for souveniers and drinks.:drinking1We have the dining plan and I keep extra money separate for dining tips and mousekeeping. Whatever is left over goes in an envelope for the next years vacation.

We stock up on gift cards and charge to the room most everything, but we usually take about $200 cash. I put half in the safe and take half to the park - if I spend some, then I replenish from what I have in the safe.

I'll be bringing $2000 in Disney giftcards. I will carry $300 cash. I'll have my debit card with me for another extra purchases.

DH and I carry about $100 in cash each, and don't use very much of it. We charge with MB in the parks/resort and it gets billed to our credit card.
