How much baggage do you take?

We are a family of 6. We pack two medium sized suitcases with my clothes, DH clothes, the baby's blankets and clothes, and the toiletries. Each boy gets one rolling back pack worth of clothes that we check with the suitcases. Shorts and shirts do not take up much room you can really get a lot in those backpacks. Each boy was able to roll their backpack through the airport so DH and I weren't trying to juggle too much stuff. For carry on luggage we use a total of two regular backpacks. One backpack has an extra change of clothes for everyone and bathing suits in case our luggage gets lost. The other backpack has snacks, books and Gameboys. Even though most people say that they over pack, I just want to caution you about how hot and humid it is in the summer. We went in June and we went through 2-3 outfits each day. We stayed in a villa so we did laundry each day. I would definitely plan a time to do laundry.
