I went to walmart today and the $20 dresses looked pretty bad. Is it worth a 60 minute drive to the disney store in scarborough. I know the dresses are nicer but is it worth it.

Is there a sale after halloween for princess dresses? Our trip isn't until 2009. I thought the dresses would be a good christmas present.

Thanks

I don't know if they have any sales on yet, but the dresses range in price from $45-100.00. The dresses that are on for $100, are the deluxe dresses. Very pretty, but not what I want to spend for my almost 3 year old.
I actually bought a few of her dresses from e-bay. The ones that I liked a lot and thought were worth the money were ones from the United Kingdom. The most I payed was $30 Canadian. It was for a beautiful "Belle" dress. You don't see any dress like that here at the Disney Store. It is beautiful. It really looks like the dress from the movie. To me it was worth it. I don't remember taxes and shipping being that much. I wouldn't get anything were the shipping was as much as the dress.
I just bought a "Snow White" dress from the D.Store for our trip for DD and it is nice, but I found an even prettier dress on e-bay from the United Kingdom for even cheaper than what I paid. Dh wouldn't let me get it:sad1: . Even when I said that I would return the one from the D. Store. I was told to be happy with what I got:headache:
Anyhoo, that is my suggestion. HTH!

I usually buy dresses for my princess from the disneyshopping.com site. Although the dresses are $40+ now, they usually have them on sale in the weeks leading up to Halloween. Because my daughter's birthday is at the end of October, I have bought dresses from this site for the past two years, and I paid either $19.99 or $24 for each of them. I think when I paid $24, they were offering free shipping as well. These dresses are MUCH better quality than the Wal-Mart dresses, and they are also size specific rather than Age 3+. I think you can subscribe to the disneyshopping.com site. I get emails letting me know when things go on sale.

Happy Shopping!

We bought the Cinderella dress for our now 3 year old at the end of August and it was $50 and the light up shoes for $20.00 Then the wand we were able to ge on sale for $10 but they still didn't have any of the tiara's at the time so I don't know how much those are. So we spent $80 + tax so that she would be able to wear it on our Disney trip earlier this month and in the end it didn't fit in the luggage :rolleyes1
If we knew it would have been sacrified for all the other stuff we would have just bought the one at Walmart instead to wear around the house. Maybe you could just call the Disney store and ask them if the dresses ever go on sale since you still have time to buy it.

My DD is 15 years old this year and when she was five I took her to the Disney Store at Downtown Disney and we tried on dresses, while she whirled and twirled around in them until she finally decided. We ended up with a tinkerbell costume with the works (shoes, wand, dress, tiara) and spent about 125.00 US (when the dollar was .64....ouch...I thought my husband was going to have a stroke) but it was worth it just for the experience. They didn't have the Bibbitty-bobbitty Boutique then but last year we went just to watch all the little girls get the "royal" treatment. I can't put a price on that memory of my dd that's for sure..... that dress hangs on the wall in our "Disney" room, on a padded satin hanger displayed with the tiara, wand and shoes. I see it everytime I walk in there and it brings back those great memories.Quite frankly it makes me really happy that we had that "Disney" moment together 10 years ago.......Enjoy your princesses princess: one and all because they are grown before you know it :wizard:

I was just at the Disney Store on the weekend and the had all their beautiful Halloween costumes out. My girls were going crazy at all the selection. DD6 fell in love with the Alice in Wonderland costume. She got to meet Alice and Mad Hatter at the Wonderland Tea Party and is now her fave character. All the princess dresses were wonderful as were all the accessories. The dresses started at $49.99....a little more than I would want to spend. But the quality and detail were amazing.

I bought DD6 the Belle dress that came out at spring/Easter and paid full price ($50) and said that was enough! I know they discount these costumes closer/after Halloween, but the sizes are slim picking at that point.

the giselle dress and the bell dress are 99.50-but they are gorgeous. the alice in 49.50, high school musical are 40. However if you spend 50 this week, you get a 25 gift certifiacte to use in october (on purchases over 50). so they should be marked down then and the 25 card would make them better
