How many vacations do you juggle?

My head is spinning now ... we have a cruise booked, a summer soujourn, a surprise October visit for DD to attend MNSSHP, so that's three so far.

But I am waiting on the 11-month window for next spring, and a summer 2011 visit to Disneyland Paris is looking like a swell way to celebrate our anniversary.

How many trips do you juggle/manage? I'm a planner, but even this is pushing me to the limit!

After our annual trip last August we decided to go for NYE week, a parents-only weekend in March, and then again for our trip in August '10, since we had APs for this year. We also have a week at the beach in June, and DW and I are going to Antigua for 5 days for our 10th anniversary in July.

Our 180 day ADR mark for the upcoming August trip was yesterday. For the first time since we've been going as a family, I didn't call on the first day that I could. I just didn't have it in me. Even though I am a planaholic, I am planned out. My spreadsheet is made, and all, but not really finished. I haven't obsessed over it the way I normally do. We're not trying for Le Cellier, CRT, or anything like that, so I don't think it will be a big deal.

We tend to vacation at WDW 2 or 3 times a year and that's our limit.

Planning vacations is half the fun! I'm always planning ahead a year or two!

Okay,

I've got a short 4 day trip to the TN Mountains in June(Wyndham points)

17 days in Hawaii in July(RCI and II Trades, plus Wyndham points)

7 days at WDW for Thanksgiving(SSR GV)

Need to book, dates marked in Blackberry-2011-MLK weekend at a DVC, book VB for Spring Break 2011, deposit my ski week in II, since we're doing the beach. Figure out summer break(II or RCI trade or use Wyndham points). Early August in Northern Michigan. Book Wyndham points for Thanksgiving 2011 at home resort(13 month window).

And perhaps I'll do a girls trip somewhere fall 2010.

It seem like a lot, but it keeps me out of trouble.

LOL! Well let's put it this way...I'm on restriction by DH from planning anymore for right now. Here's what we got lined up.....

WDW - March 2010
Myrtle Beach - June 2010
DCL (Wonder) - Sept. 2010
Myrtle Beach - Sept. 2010
DCL (Wonder) - Dec - 2010 (just DH & I...no kids :goodvibes )
DCL (Dream) - Feb. 2011

Lookes Awesome Eeyores#1Fan!

We are set to go to AKV in two weeks. Then AKL with DD and her friend in April. We hope for a quick weekend in the summer. Sept 2010 DW and I are booked for the Magic Transatlantic Cruise. 2011-we are planning a 10 day trip with friends and possibly a cruise...for starters :confused3

We have Spring Break at BLT - first trip home :goodvibes
Then, Tree House with friends in July, a girls' trip/5K in October, January trip with my family and brother, and I'm eyeing GCV for next June... Since that will take all of 2011 points, maybe then a cruise? And there's still Spring Break 2011 to consider. Haven't decided if we're doing a week at the beach (preferably Litchfield) this summer or next. Oh! And Myrtle Beach for this President's Day weekend.

Whew! And I never used to plan more than 3 months in advance! :rotfl:

It looks as if my long weekend trip to Cape May for this weekend will be cancelled due to bad driving conditions.:headache:

Eyore's Fan...I love your schedule! We really enjoy cruising!

DVC trips this year:

(already did Marathon 5 night stay BLT!)
February long weekend with DCuzs. (this is the only one that wasn't planned 11 months out!)
Spring break with DFs and then DH, 8 nights for F&G
9 night trip with lots of family and friends, VB and BCV to see the 4th of July Fireworks!!!
Long weekend in October for MNSSHP and F&W
1 night in November in Treehouse before DCL cruise. We were on a 3 night DCL cruise last year with DF and had lots of fun, so in a moment of weakness,:rotfl: I asked if everyone would want to do it again...well, duh...of course! If we do go on another DCL cruise with DF, I would want to do a longer one.
Long weekend at VWL with DH and friends in December.
NYE 4 night stay with extended family!

We will cut back dramatically in '11.

Bobbi:goodvibes

Usually 2 a year, sometimes 3. I just had to call from BLT to make a reservation for our 7 month date at THV. I had to book AKV and waitlist for THV's. 2 days later the waitlist came through. 3 bedrooms instead of 2 and 23 points cheaper.:cool1:

Well for us, 2 major Disney vacations a year is our max. But there's always a little trip here and there during the summer -- no big planning involved for those.

We usually have at least 2 going on, but I'm currently juggling 3. We have a cruise booked for September, 2010, a parks trip for December, 2010, and a cruise booked for June, 2011. The good thing with the cruises is that they take minimal planning, but I'm already full swing into planning our parks trip and it alone is making my head spin. Still, it's nice to be in a position to be going on Disney trips, so I can't complain. :woohoo:

The minute I get my son's school calendar, it begins, this year it's 4 vacations so far. Feb 11-15 long break (SSR, Disney) Spring break (1 week, Georgia), 1st week right after school ends (June to OKW, Disney), 3rd week of July (New York) and Nov (4 days, Disney, OKW w/ Aunt from France).

With kids, DVC works out real well for me because I know way in advance the time I need to take off and I can reserve early.

I have a trip in May to Marco Island, 5 Units for 1 week in June at HH (family trip), 8 weeks at BCV/BWV for a week in Sept (family trip), a week in Jan for Aruba and are in the planning stages for a cruise to Alaska June 2011 and a 3 week trip to HI mid 2012. I try to be more than a full year ahead as much as possible and planning at least 2 years ahead.

We live so far from WDW that we usually go for one long trip per year, maybe every other year.

Having said that, 2010 is looking much better! A surprise trip to OKW this month for my DD's birthday, a trip to the Contemporary in July and a trip to BLT in October.

That is a lot for my tired brain (and my DH's wallet!) so I'm having a really hard time planning a vision for 2011 and 2012! I sure have some ideas :rolleyes1, but with my DH not ready to discuss it yet, we'll have to wait to plan.

We spent 5 days for Marathon Weekend in early Jan. Have a week scheduled in June at BCV and are planning a big family gathering in June of 2011. I'd love to do another cruise but with on DS about to enter HS the timing may not work.

:thumbsup2 great thread.

Right now I am juggling:
  • Mexico next month
  • Disneyland in June
  • Jewish Camp in Colorado for the kids a week after Disneyland
  • Disneyland in October

I have OCD when it comes to vacation planning... We have so far:

March 2010: BLT
August 2010: Paris, then Med DCL
2011: Timeshare on St. John and DCL Alaska w/west coast USA and Vancouver before
2012: DCL Fantasy or Dream (whichever is doing 7 days out of PC) with a week in Orlando, prob will add something else, as we do two trips a year.....
