How many times have you booked, cancelled and rebooked a National reservation?

And then repeated those steps again? :guilty: I am just nervous that maybe I forgot once to cancel a reservation or something. I have 3 that I have printed out the cancellation confirmations on. I have saved AT LEAST $15.00 on the 3 confirmations I have now. :)

Just call and check. That's what I did. I have cancelled and rebboked at least 5 times- Down from the original $178, to $113 for 8 days.

Anyway- I just called and had them check under my name. I told them, I had cancelled and rebooked due to lower rates. They had no problems doing so, and it gave me piece of mind, that I did not have 5-6 cars reserved.

I've done it probably at least 40-50 times, sometimes multiple times in a single day.

If you are not sure whether you cancelled a particular reservation, go to the View/Modify/Cancel page, key in the reservation number and it will tell you whether it is cancelled or not.

100's of times. Have to get the best rate I can or I feel cheated.

I have rebooked 9 times this trip. I always book the new rate, double check it, and then cancel the old one. I always cancel right after booking and I print the cancellation to be sure.

You can double check, either way listed above. I simply use the view feature on their web site and it tells me if the ressie has been cancelled or not.

The question is...... how much lower can my ressie go? Each time I rebook, I say this will be the last, but then down it goes again!

I have my entire trip totally booked up. This is my favorite part of the trip sometimes, so keeping and eye on National keeps me going until we leave.

Have a great day!

When you keep checking your rates, do you sign in with your Emerald Club or just check using the first page? I was wondering if they track it and keep you at the same rates if you sign in.

I'll answer my own question. I just checked, first without signing in, and then with. Both rates were the same, LOWER than my previous reservation by about $5, so I made another one and will be cancelling the old one, again!

I always check when I AM NOT signed in. If the rate goes down, I log in and make the new ressie. Saves a few clicks. The rates are the same since you are using the same contract id and coupon code.

I usually rebook every trip at least a half dozen times as it drops over the weeks. I head to Atlanta tomorrow, will make one last check before I leave.

For our July trip, I have already rebooked 5 times. I started out at $252 for 10 days Emerald Aisle on National. I am now at $153! :cool1:

Airfares and rental car costs...you can never figure them out. As long as they keep going down, I'm happy! :bounce:

I'm on my 5th ressie for my June trip. I, too, rebook then cancel. Whenever i cancel, i archive the conf. e-mail, so I know that it has been cancelled. My rate has dropped $20 since I started and I am now paying less for an EA intermediate for 5 days than I paid for an economy for 4 days through Budget in January. SWEET!

I just rebooked again this morning for our trip next Friday. Saved another $22 dollars. I will check again at least once before we leave.

A few days before you leave, just call National and chekc to see if all your ressies have been cancelled.

One time, (thinking I had all the others cancelled) I was at the booth at MCO and they said I had two reservations and asked which one I wanted. (well the lowest one of course :) ). BTW there was no problem, just cancelled one).

Another time I called a few days ahead. and there was one I thought I cancelled and didn't.

For my May trip, I have rebooked 4 times. Went from $150 for an intermediate to $109 for a full size.

I'm still checking my ressies. 2 days ago I made another one for $145 total for intermediate for 10 days. That's 7 all together. I cancelled all but two of them (I'm undecided about using the continenal code, so I still have a priceless backup) I'm hoping to gat it down to the $130 I paid for my last trip.

Thanks to A LOT of help...I have cancelled and rebooked 3 times. It's nice having someone look out for you! :wizard:

I had the same thing for a while with the Continental Code. I decided last week it wasn't worth the worry, so I canelled it. $4 more isn't going to break me. There is just too much uncertainty with the Continental Code.

Just made another new ressie minutes ago!

1st--Standard car at $212 for 8 days.
2nd--Standard car at $190 for 8 days.
3rd--Standard car at $150 for 8 days.
Last--Full Size car at $147 for 8 days.
Changed Again--Full Size car for $131 for 8 days (used different coupon).

I am liking this too much! DH thinks I'm crazy, but, hey, I've saved a bunch of money and upgraded our car size.

One more time! Down to $100 for full size or $94 for intermediate (emerald aisle). For that price, I'm booking full size. They are practically giving them away! I guess Magical Express has bookings down!
