How many times can you watch the same movie?

My guilty pleasures are Armaggedeon (sp?) and Independence Day. There are a few others but I can' think of them. And right now I'm watching New Year's Eve for the umpteenth time.

Oh and 17 Again. Love Zac Ephron!

Ashamed to admit I rewatch movies to the extent I can quote the dialogue as it goes along. :p

DH does, too; unfortunately they're rarely the same movies.

The limit does not exist. (From one of the many movies I could watch repeatedly) :happytv:

There are very few movies that I can watch over and over. A few that come to mind are: You've Got Mail, and the Hangover. Normally I see a movie once and I'm done.

DH on the other hand watches them over and over. Transformers, anything James Bond , Iron Man, The Davinci Code, Fantastic Four........

As with others, it depends. Some movies I love, but don't want to see over and over (American History X comes to mind). Others I just like, but have no problem seeing many times (say A Christmas Story). Once in awhile, l'll find one that not only really sucks me in, but also is enjoyable over and over (Forest Gump, Unforgiven, Shawshank, etc). :)

I am like you...just one and done. DH drives me nuts watching the same handful of movies over and over and over... (like My Cousin Vinny and Harry Potter...as well as constantly watching and re-watching the old show, Murder She Wrote ). When we go to bed at night, I need to watch TV to fall asleep (I have sleep troubles...always have). So, we fight over what gets put on the TV...I have zero interest in watching Murder She Wrote (episode 'whatever' for the 10th time) and that's all he wants to watch (or college football).

I love murder she wrote, and diagnosis murder too- they're fab! :cool1:

Yep, my dh can watch movies over and over too.
I think the worse one was Avator. He is so paying me back when I found out The Animal Kingdom is doing something in the park after that movie. I still think it is a plagerized movie after Pochahontas.

His new one-GI Joe. It is on at night and it was on this morning again.

Movies I love ....Over and over and over and over..........

I have some that I never tire of such as Gladiator, 300, Troy, LOTR, Red, Rambo I or II, Predator, anything with Jason Statham, Jaws. Clearly, I am not the girl you will ever catch asking to see the Notebook:rotfl2: I actually watch Gladiator and quote along "The ice sometimes it makes the blade stick" and so on so forth

I can watch Mean Girls any day of the week! ;) Lucky for me, TBS likes to show it twice in a row quite often!

I can watch a good action movie over and over again. Comedies maybe I'll repeat one, but romances, once and I'm done. I rarely watch romances anyway. I'm an action kinda girl.

ETA: With the exception of my Disney movies of course. I watch The Lion King at least once a week. :lmao:

I cannot even count how many times I've seen some movies. A lot of times it is for like background, soundtrack kind of thing. I cannot even count how many times I have seen Rock of Ages since I got that. I have been walking around singing that stuff since the day I got it back in like November.

If I'm flipping channels there are several movies that I just can turn away from, they aren't movies I ever rent, or watch on DVD, but when on TV I just can't change the channel.

A Knights Tale
The Mummy (I don't know why, but I love these stupid movies)
Dirty Dancing
16 Candles
Can't buy me love
Zombieland
Cars
Finding Nemo
Shawshank Redemption
The Green Mile
Transformers

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head :thumbsup2

I actually watched Shawshank Redemption (for the, um like, 30th time?) today and realized things that I never realized before. :rotfl2: Yeah, I guess it takes me awhile sometimes. Napoleon Dynamite is another one! :rotfl: Hmmm, apparently my taste runs the gamut.

I like to watch a movie and be done with it. If it is a great movie like Steel Magnolias or Legends of The Fall...just some epic movie or real tear jerker I may watch it once every few years but I am not one to rewatch anything. TV or movies.

One movie I just can't NOT WATCH if I flip through channels and catch it on is Forest Gump. It sucks me in every time.

There are very few movies I will watch again. My DH on the other hand, can watch things over and over.

Last night, I wanted to catch Inventing the Abbotts. He already watched it last week. He sat and watched the whole thing again with me. I would never do that!

Me and the kids want to scream when we hear Independence Day on the TV...I think he saw it 1000 times!!!!

Funny that you would ask this. I have been watching the same movies over and over on the Hallmark channel. Driving DD18 crazy. I love all those Christmas movies. They are still playing them so I continue to watch them. Each Christmas since it came out I watch The Holiday, Polar Express at least a dozen times a piece during the month of December.

I've watched Terms of Endearment, Steel Magnolias a million times and cry each time I watch them. If it is a movie or tv program I really like I will watch the reruns a zillion times over. I know all the Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, Reba, and Everybody Loves Raymond series by heart.

I really can't watch TV show over and over again: 1) I already know what happens and 2) Too many other new shows to watch. Only exception is Twilight Zone and Star Trek marathons :) I always wonder who buy reality TV seasons - you already know who wins?

Movies - I have annual rotations of movies I watch again and again:
- Sci-Fi, Action: Matrix triology, Die Hard movies (esp 1 & 4), Inception
- End of the world movies: Indpendence Day, Armeggedon (sp), 2012, Deep Impact, etc.
-Sappy romance movies: Twilight saga, Love Actually (our Christmas movie), any Jane Austen movie (just watched Pride & Prejudice yesterday with Kiera Knightly, but adore the BBC version), and others too many to list.

When I was making Christmas candy I was listening/watching 'Much ado about Nothing" on Netflix and reciting all the lines. My son commented "You must have watched this movie all lot"

Now some movies, I watch once and done like comedies for some reason. Maybe because I already know all the jokes so it isn't that good the second time around (except for Austin Powers). My husband, on the other hand, can watch over and over and laugh each time. Oh well.

I've watched my favorites many times: Dirty Dancing, Pretty Woman, Working Girl.
