We live "in town" so there is a lot within a 5-10 minute walk from my house: Four full service restaurants, a pizza place, 3 quick service/take out restaurants, three microbrewery/taprooms, a gas station/convenience food store, three coffee shops (one attached to a shop with bulk spices, bulk coffee beans, wine, specialty items, etc.), two barber shops, the town hall, police station, fire station, library, the town pool, and all three public schools (elementary, middle, and high schools). The University of Maine (where DH and I work) is a mile from my house. My bank is also about a mile away (oddly, the three banks we had in town closed) but there is a credit union. Unfortunately, the closest grocery store is a good 10 minute drive. All in all, not a bad place to live, if you like small-town life!
