How many steps is a mile?

On your stepcounter how many steps would be converted to a mile (of the average person's stride)?? I am going leaflet delivering next week and want to know how far I have walked!

Any ideas??

The average person's stride, IIRC, is slightly less than a yard, so it would be approximately 2000 or so steps to a mile.

if you're talking about a pedometer, good ones can be calibrated to measure based on the persons stride..
