How many stay at home resort verses other?

We own at OKW & BWV.
Stay at OKW 75% of the time. OKW is our favorite.
Family vacation this time around , at my insistence they are going to experience our other home resort. Hope they like it as much, just worried that I picked a bad time to do it with the renovations going on!

I always book at our home resort (BWV) at 11 months to make sure I have a reservation somewhere I like. If I decide I would like to stay somewhere else, then I change later. We like to bounce around to experience all the resorts (including VB).

We do the same thing. Our goal is to stay at all of the on-site resorts, and we only have BCV and BLT left.....so looks like I gotta get planning!

I usually stay at our Home, the BW and now that we also own the BLT I will primarily stay at both locations doing a split stay.

HOWEVER, I have tried BC,(like BW better) AK (didn't care for it) and VB ( absolutely love VB) so we try to squeeze in a stay of 2 nights every year.

Our trips over the past 18 months have been 3 at our current home resort of SSR and 1 at VWL (our original purchase DVC home). So we're actually staying at our home resort mostly - by choice, too.

Prior to purchasing in 2004, we rented points and stayed in studios in OKW (2x), BWV, and BCV. Since buying we have spent 2 nights at SSR, and visited all of the older DVCs including Vero and HHI. We love the spacious 1 br at OKW and have chosen those a few times. We have stayed Concierge in Jambo (regular too) and will be at Kidani next week. Our adult children are at BLT in a 1 br, so I plan to see it up close and personal too. We are staying Concierge in Jambo again next May, and hope to be at BLT for F & W 2010. In May 2011, we plan to get a THV with married daughter and her in-laws. We enjoy something about all of the DVCs...for us, variety is the spice of life. I think I'm going to save up some money to buy a few points resale at BWV -- we do love it there for F & W.

Most of our points are at OKW and that's where we choose to stay mostly, because we love it. Have BWV points for the BW view occasionally, but recently they get turned into OKW at 7 months. Oh, and yes, we do go to VB every year too.

The only time I have used my points at a non-home resort is a visit to HH a few Septembers ago .... during a tropical storm

Even though we visit 2/3 times a year, OKW (and the one bedroom villas especially) just call us back. Been visiting since 1988 and the parks no longer have the same appeal so OKW with its big units and most convenient parking is my idea of heaven .

We stay at our home resorts too. It used to be only OKW, and now that we've added AKV, I find we are splitting our stays each trip...half at one and half at the other.

We own at BWV and VWL. Have stayed only twice at WL, the rest of our visits have been at BWV (where we own a majority of our points)

We are venturing over to BLT this November. We've been going to WDW since the mid 70's and the Contemporary and Poly both hold special memories for my family.

We plan to try out all the resorts.

We have been members since Aug 08 and so far we have stayed at SSR, BCV and BLT. We will be at our home resort AKV-Kidani next month and we have a reservation for VGC for next April.

I just love that there are so many resorts to try, but we still have a home resort to go back to.

I only use my points at their respective home resorts. But since I own at all 10 resorts, I do eventually end up staying at all the resorts.

We love the location of the EPCOT resorts ...that's why we purchased BWV. We have stayed at BCV and AKV. AkV is nice, but it's too far away for our tastes. We also like BCV, but normally utilize our 11 month window.

I have owned since 2006. I have stayed at my home resort (SSR) only once. I have been to WDW only three times. Once at SSR, Once at OKW and Once at Kidani. In November I will do a short pre-cruise stay at SSR and a post-cruise couple of nights at VWL. I have done DLR at the GCH on points three or four times a year. But I now own at VGC and will either sell or rent my SSR points and stay at VGC most of the time.

We've only stayed at our home resorts: VWL and BWV. Mainly for the 11-month booking window. But it's getting to where a trip to WDW isn't a trip unless we're staying there and eating at the Biergarten.

When we bought, our guide really pushed SSR saying "you don't have to stay there....you can always find something else at 7 months." We didn't trust him and decided to buy where we wanted to stay!

It is funny my husband and I were just talking about this. Our first resort we bought was SSR in 2006 and have yet to be there. Shortly after we had addonitis and bought at AKL and have been there a few times, then another addonitis and bought BLT. We are going home to BLT in 2 short weeks. One day we will get to SSR, we heard it is WONDERFUL. It is just at the 7 month window we were able to get BWV twice and WL. We are trying to stay at all of resorts on Disney Property

Our home resort is AKV. We have stayed there once. but have Christmas booked this year. We are staying at BCV in a couple weeks( We are in the process of closing on a resale there.) We have also stayed at BWV,SSR and OKW. Haven't found one we don't like yet.

We've owned at OKW since 1995. Since we're often last minute travelers, we usually stay at any DVC there's room and have never been disappointed. We have also used points outside DVC and have had a blast anywhere we've gone. Life is Good!

I'm lazy and content with home, so we book it eleven months out and haven't moved (home is BWV). We did spend one night at VWL - booked at the 7 month window - when we decided to add a night about eight months out (we are fond of VWL). I'm going to try for BCV in 2010 - my kids are SAB age now, and if that goes well, I anticipate we may move a bit more in the future.
