I've worked at 2 fast food restaurants, a bakery & a brewery / ale house. Technically no retail establishments.

Deli & florist in high school (so not retail per se but customer service related) and then a store in a mall one summer during college.

Just one! I was the manager of a Ben Franklin Variety Store in the early 1970's. Two and a half of the longest years of my life. I left and never looked back.

Oh, yea... I was a stock boy for a small family grocery store for a few months while in high school.

During a Christmas season I worked at the exchange at Langley AFB toy land.
After the season I worked in stocking in a another department.

Strawbridge and Clothier department store (sadly gone too)
A University bookstore in Philadelphia

Worked warehouse/distribution center for JC Penney & also Oshman's Sporting Goods.
In the store itself: Big Lots, Sports Authority & Reading China. All those were behind the scenes tho in the cash office & receiving departments. Rarely ever in the store part itself.

I worked at a Burger King for 4 days before quitting.

I was the Easter Bunny at a mall one year. That suit was hot. That’s as close to retail as I’ve been.

Just one decades ago, and it was a second job, three nights a week and Saturday. It was a new household goods concept store being tested by the owner of a clothing store chain. I was there maybe a year.
