They have a suite over that GF that Princess Di stayed in that I beleive runs up in the thousands per night, not points but cash. I don't think you will get much pampering for that many points. Besides you plan on sleeping in front of the fire place at FWL don't you or am I thinking of someone else.
Last weekend in their press conference Disney Officials outlined the following options if the cruise cancels: Full refund- future trip or free trip to Disney World. I can not imagine that similar offerings would not be made to DVC members- that is returning your points or offering you other accomodations. If Disney is sold out than I would request they put you up elsewhere. I don't think you should be limited to DVC accomodations as this is a special circumstance.
thank you - it seems to me from DVC conversations today that we are not being given any consideration here with the choice of cancellation. the first person i spoke with today said since it is only a few days from cruise date i would loose all points - even though DCL is calling and asking if we want to cancel
Sorry to hear about your problem- I'm really disappointed you are not getting the same consideration as paying guests- after all you did pay for those points and if I understand it correctly, DVC theoretically pays for your cruise by renting out the rooms at DVC that you would have used. So they really have a similar value to cash customers. Why shouldn't you be given the option to cancel if others are. What bad PR! I would press them a bit on this after all these are extenuating circumstances.
