How many park days for my trip in May?

We've taken many wdw vacations, but haven't been there for 6 years! We are going memorial day week staying at coronado springs. We have 7 park days but with the closures and shows shut down is this too much? Should I take a day to do something else? It will be my husband and me and our 2 young adult daughters. I'm having a hard time imagining how this trip will be different even though I spend hours on the disboards and watching youtube videos of the parks.

I don't think you will have trouble filling up those 7 park days, if that's what you want. :)

We will have 9 day hoppers. Not worried at all. Can always just leave a park early, go to Disney Springs or back to hotel if you want.

With the need to make park reservations and May 24 already full for HS, you should decide soon and make your reservations. I would keep all 7 days as the cost to add a day or two is minimal. Make the reservations. This gives you great flexibility to cut days short, take mid-day breaks, or decide to not go to a park on any given day.

We also have young adult daughters. Seeing that you haven't been to WDW in 6 years, I'm pretty sure the theme parks will be tugging at you each day. So even if you plan to do something else, before the day is over, you'll wish you were at a WDW theme park.

In fact, consider getting a hopper so you can visit a couple of parks each day.

We made our park reservations a few weeks ago. I don't think we'll be able to switch days around that week bc it will most likely be very busy. I will keep what I have

As many as you can. Once you get past 4 days, the price per day goes down significantly. I would prefer a more leisurely trip so you don’t feel like you have to cram everything in each park day.

We’re going to be there around the same time. Staying 11 nights with 9 days of park tickets. We opted to do the extra days of tickets due to the minimal cost after day 5. We figure we can come and go as we please and not feel bad about it.

OP, I think it depends on how long your stay is. We are going at the same time as you with our two young adult daughters and also have seven day tickets. Our trip is twelve days long. At the very least with the masks it's going to be uncomfortable if not miserable so we are do doing two park days on and then one day off to get a break from masking every few days. Days off will be water park or resort days.

I have been on 5 trips since reopening, 2 of them were 7-8 park days and we found plenty to do. Right now the best thing to do is arrive early, take a break midday, and go to a park at night. Honestly the breaks are needed, I used to be a "parks all day" kinda person, but masks can be exhausting, and those social distance lines and the crowded feeling they create in walkways can be equally as exhausting. It was nice to know we could come back later, or take another day to get to stuff. We slowed down a lot more than usual, and had more time to relax so we weren't as exhausted at the end of our trip. You can always take some time to do something else, but I found we enjoyed having more park days (and I felt rushed on my 3-4 day trips because I felt like I didn't have enough time to really experience everything I wanted to, like ride favorites more).

We will actually be there at the same time as you, but only have 5 park days spread across 8 days because we've done the parks a lot this year and don't need as much time. Plus, it's gonna be hot and the pools will be calling our names on this trip. If I hadn't been as much I'd probably want more time in the parks.

Sounds like a good idea. We will be there 8 nights. I'm dreading the masks in the heat too bc I have some very mild asthma. But I want to go so badly. It sounds like a longer trip will be better due to heat and humidity. I can't go disney commando style pushing a stroller like I did 19 years ago when they were 1 and 5.

Seven park days for me..............................not nearly enough BUT it depends on what your family likes. And things are changing day to day per Covid. We don't like to "park til we "drop" but enjoy the experience. For us this means leisure and taking time to really see WDW. I hope Memorial Day to see BIG changes. Lots of vaccines will be given by then.
