I've read a lot on the boards that you should take a power strip with you. I was wondering, just how many outlets there are in each cabin? We are in a cat. 5 on deck 7.

We were in a cat 4, so it should be the same............

I only found two outlets that were accessible. They were at the desk. There is one outlet in the bathroom, but it would only handle a shaver, not a hairdryer. We took an extension cord and it came in very handy because our hairdryer wouldn't fit in the plug near the desk because of the Ground Fault box on the cord.

If you're going to recharge cameras, or need multiple outlets at the same time, I would take an extension cord or power strip.

I had one in the bathroom on the hairdryer and two plugs at the desk. Funny thing is that when I tried to recharge my phone none of the plugs worked. I wonder if you had to ask them to turn them on or something.

there are two outlets on the desk, one behind the TV (you have to slide the TV forward to access it) and that useless thing in the bathroom they call an outlet that supposedly only fits a shaver (we just bring disposable razors so never really tried it).

We always bring a small power strip because we have 3 teens....hairdryers, flat irons, curling irons, cell phones, digital cameras....etc to use and charge.

bostonlass....that was odd that your outlets did not work. You definately DO NOT have to ask them to turn them on....they should have worked.

Also....check out this link at Dave's site....it tells all about the outlets and power supply in the cabins...

We were in a catagory 5 also and the only outlet we found was on the desk next to the tv. My children had fits every morning when I dried my hair because they couldn't hear the TV!

The cat. 3's are bad too. Their was one outlet compatible to US stantdard plugs. It was under the TV in the Master. No other outlets could be found. They had to have outletsfor the CD and VCR in the living room but I also assumed they were being used by those to items. All other outlets were the round recessed style but I can't remember the prong positions.

If Disney does build another ship, they need to address this issue. In a cat. 3 there is a huge vanity outside the walk-in master closet but no outlet! The lighting at that vanity wasn't good. I used a 16' and a 6' drop cord connected together if I wanted to use anything by the vanity. I had to dry my hair by the master TV but at least they do have a mirror above the stack of drawers. The cat. 6 has a nicer area to style your hair in but it and the cat. 3 plug in areas interfered with hearing a TV.
