I frequent THIS board every trip here to the DIS. I don't typically post a lot here, but that is because I don't know nearly as much about UO than I do WDW. However, I come here every time I sign on to try to gain knowledge of UO and to see if there are any threads that I can help out with. With that being said, I was just interested in seeing how many people here come to this board and consider themselves HUGE WDW fans. I know that typically a lot of people think that if you are a big WDW fan that you can't possibly like UO, but I disagree. I think you can like both, because that is how I am! So, just wanted to throw this poll out there because it interests me! Thanks all! :thumbsup2

I like both equally, but that was not an option on your poll:confused3:confused3 They are different, but both great theme park experiences!

This trip we are doing both, 4 days WDW and 3 days US/IOA!

I have AP's to both Universal and Disney but prefer Universal since it's closer to my house.

I'll go to WDW once out of every 5 to 10 visits to UO. It was more interesting when my kids were younger. I haven't been to AK since they wimped down Countdown to Extinction, not even interest in Everest. Since my wife is British we had to have lunch at the pub in Epcot. Normally we visit WDW when we are entertaining company that has never been to Orlando before. This March, for instance, we will be going to MK and DHS plus Typhoon Lagoon and DQ.

Every time we go to Orlando we make it a point to go to DTD for fish and chips at Cookes of Dublin. We like an evening stroll at DTD more than CityWalk.

We never buy tickets to WDW anymore, I haven't bought them since they went to that Magic Your Way scam (are you listening, Universal ticket people?). We tour timeshares on rest days and get WDW tickets for free or drastically reduced, plus we score a free meal at the same time :)

Another vote for "both equally" here.

They're just so different to me, that I can't pick a favorite.

Honestly, over the years I've only seen one person here who said that they didn't like WDW at all, pretty much everyone else enjoys WDW.

For me, it just depends on what day of the week it is.

I prefer UO a bit more than WDW - like that everything is together within walking distance and the smaller crowds, although I do like many aspects of WDW. UO seems to be more of a hidden gem. On our trip last month - when you are traveling with children and telling them you are going to Orlando - everybody just assumes you are going to Disney (must have to say about 10 times - no we are going to Universal (although we did do a 3 day Disney cruise on the trip, but no Disney parks).

Yet another "both equally" -- for us they are different experiences and we greatly enjoy both. It's like asking a parent to pick their favorite child!

We definitely love both equally as well ... we have APs to both WDW and US and wouldn't think of taking a trip without visiting both.

I love both equally also. But I do spend more time at US.

interesting poll:).

Nothing is better than a split trip for us (it started because we could stay onsite @ U more economically than what used to be very pricey weekends DVC). Now, i feel 'cheated' if we don't stay onsite @ least 2 nights for 3 days in the parks. We rarely spend the whole week @ WDW & even when we do, we'll do a day or 2 'outside the world', sometimes throw in a cruise.

As to your remark i highlighted - I'm not too sure it's 'typical' for WDW fans to dislike U:confused3. I've found that those who tend to run U down have either never been there:confused:or they haven't visited it in years.

jmho, if u repeat this poll in a year, after the expected rush of disneyphiles to HP; u'll probably obtain very different results...most singing U's praises.:thumbsup2

I like them both pretty equally but I think I currently prefer Universal more. It's just a calmer atmosphere and I don't have to worry about the crowds like I would at Disney. (Not to mention my favorite show is at Universal! :))

I've grown up with both and just recently got an AP for Universal, so I've been doing Universal lately.

I think my Mom prefers my Universal liking over my WDW liking, since it's closer for her to pick me up. ;)

They're both great, but the food is better at Universal, and we've found that the RPR is an actual hotel that is reasonably priced.
