How many of you who ordered a vacation planning dvd . . .

also received a postcard or an e-mail with a discount rate? Just wondering if there was any correlation with the two? I know there is really no rhyme or reason to who receives these ellusive discounts, but any little hints would help.

I ordered a planning dvd in my name for last year's trip in Sept '04. I think I only got one postcard so far. I ordered another planning dvd in my husbands name to see if we get any more. I always wonder if there is someone out there hoarding all the postcards!!!??!? If so, spread some of the cheer with the rest of us!

I've ordered the DVD (VHS before) for about 5 years and have only received a postcard the first 3 years. I haven't received a postcard or e-mail code in 2 years.

Well, so much for that theory . . .

I know the postcard thing is totally random because my mother who has never been to Disney or bought anything Disney has started getting them in the last year or two. In fact she got one last week. I was so excited until I read it for myself and it was just the standard "family of four for less than $1500" advertisement.

It's driving me crazy not to be able to get a discount on our upcoming trip!!! I still believe codes will come out at the beginning of March, but I'm not a patient woman (just ask my DH)! I received my planning dvd in the mail today and I just wondered if there might be any inkling of a chance that a coveted e-mail or postcard would be soon to follow.

I've ordered the planning DVD (and video before that) for a number of years and never got a post card with a code. We're DVC so codes don't really matter to me - maybe they know that.

I ordered one in Dec and got a postcard with a code about a week or two before the DVD came. I have never stayed on Disney property, only been to Epcot once for a day for a work trip.

We ordered the DVD but did not receive a post card and have never received a post card. My guess would be that we frequently visit WDW and they know it and that's why we don't get post cards. My parents went to WDW with us in 1991 and had a room reserved in their name and have not been back since and they received a post card earlier this year. I think they send the post cards to people who have not been to WDW for a long time to entice them to return!

I ordered a vacation planning video and got a code in my email about 5 days later saying it was on the way and here is a code I can use to book a room.
I got a mod for $79 a night.

Same thing happened to me. I ordered the DVD in hubby's name & we got an email with just normal rates. Just got the DVD this week, so still holding out hope that maybe a postcard or email will still arrive.

rec'd it in less than 10days...w/in 3 days I had an email offer for a discount at DisneyLAND. but that isn't of interest to us. We prefer WDW.

I just think tourism is picking up and Disney (as other companies) doesn't need to discount as much anymore. Sounds like the parks have been very full since last November!! I'm glad, actually, the economy has improved and people are out and about again!!

Still hoping for some savings....but we're going in April no matter what! I've booked ASMo...and if something better comes along that I can upgrade to a moderate for a good price, we'll do that. If not, ASMo here we come!

Got the DVD but no postcard. Haven't gotten one of those in about 5 years! I may be the only person, after reading other threads about the new DVD, but I like last years, the one with the girl in the red dress. There is just something irritating to me about the new DVD. I think it is too much talking maybe, I just can't put my finger on it. I know I will get a backlash of comments, but oh well!

I did order the DVD in my hubbys name this time just in case because I always book the rooms.

Also I ordered one for my dad who hasn't been in a while so not sure if he has one yet or not.
