How many of you were able to upgrade today?

Wondering how many of you were able to upgrade today.

I was able to but had to switch to a preferred room at another value.

I was happy to do so since we have saved money and have more ticket perks than we ever usually purchase.

How did everyone else do.

Ooooo, I'm first to reply to a post other than my own!

I was able to get the ticket upgrade this morning after 25 minutes on hold (but that's okay - I love the hold music! ). I had to downgrade from a preferred room to a standard room to get it, so I ended up saving $600 total with the upgrade in tickets and downgrade in room location. Happy happy, joy joy!!

Me! Me! Me! I called just a little while ago and was able to get the upgrade in tickets, total it saved me was $50 bucks on the Park Hopper, and gained the Water Parks and More option! Total saved, is $101.19! (solo tripper here)

All i did was call Disney and told her that i knew that there was a general public offer, and i would like to add that to my current reservation. She didnt even ask for the code... so she says yes, it applies to your reservation! I was very excited, so now technically the $50 bucks i saved on the Park hopper section, just paid for my P&P party ticket!!

We did have to switch from a standard room to a preferred room. It was an extra $40 onto the entire package but it's worth it to me to visit the other two parks that we weren't originally going to.

We did, however, get to stay in our room at All Star Moies

I would NEVER throw rocks at you!
We were able to upgrade our packages to include hopping, water parks & more for free. They dates that this public code were for were Mar, April and some of May.
I haven't seen anything for August yet. But I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

OK - thanks guys!! I actually got a card in the mail as well as an e-mail for those dates, but like I said I'm looking for August. Perhaps something will show up within the next couple of months. Phew - no rock tossing!!!!

I just posted on another thread that I got the upgrade. I wasn't sure if I was able to get it at a moderate for only a 4 night stay, but it worked. I saved $200.

I see it says on that website Sun-Thurs, so I'm guessing our stay of sat-sat would not work? Also we are staying at Pop and I saw a lot of posts on the other thread that they had to switch resorts to all-stars? Anyone verify that for me? We did not buy park hoppers because I didn't think we would use them that much, but if they are offering them for free I would take them.

I changed my Sat->Sat room only to a package using the discount. The CM didn't reference this in any way.

I saw a lot of posts on the other thread that they had to switch resorts to all-stars? Anyone verify that for me?

I had to switch from Pop standard AAA room only to ASMu. The value resort didn't matter much to me although I did have to incur the cost of a preferred room at ASMu as they didn't have standard available during my stay with the ticket upgrade promotion.

We did not buy park hoppers because I didn't think we would use them that much, but if they are offering them for free I would take them.


That's exactly the situation I was in. Park Hoppers, Water Park & More Fun upgrade is something that I would never have bought. But it was a free upgrade and we planned on visiting the water parks once during our stay and so it was a savings overall.

My TA arranged the free hopper and Water fun for us, and we didn't have to switch ( we stay at Pop). We stay there from 3 May untill 10 May.

We got the upgrade at Pop. Didn't have to change resorts.

I was confused about what days you could use them because it said (Sun-Thurs) so I called back and the CM told me they were good for the entire stay.

We got the upgrade free upgrade no problem. I called about 9:30 AM. We are staying on a Thursday-Tuesday and no problem getting the discount. Only thing was we had to move from the all star movies to the music or pop. We went ahead and did the music since we have not stayed there. We kept the standard room rate too of 99bucks. Not sure why soom people were having to do preffered. Oh well. This plus the 149.00 rates I got at the hard rock at universal the day before. Great deal for us. Not even sure if we have time for the water parks this time but what they hey.

I raced home yesterday to try to apply the AP code to my ressie and it worked!!!

I was able to upgrade to the DDP too and with the room discount on top of that, I saved about $700!!!

Thank God for the DIS.

how long it took: Called at 7:40am; hung up at 8:05am when I left for work. Called back on my cell @ 7:50am (yep, 2 lines going); FINALLY got through at 8:45am only to have a "dropped call" (thank you Verizon ) after just finding out the CM's name! Called again in late morning; this time only spent 26 min. on hold.

the rate quote: AKL pool view - double 2 adults - check in 5/3; check out 5/6 $1116 with 1 day MYW + Park Hopper + Water Park tix. (No insurance; no DDP.) By the time we add DDP ($38pp/day) + insurance ($70pp) to the "special rate" that was published today, our AAA rate is better for us. (No, I didn't add in the price of the Park Hopper & Water Park option as we wouldn't have used that anyway.)

our existing AAA rate: AKL std. view - double 2 adults - check in 5/3; check out 5/6 $1351 with DDP + insurance + 1 day MYW base tix (no Park Hopper & no Water Park option).

Ah well, it was worth crunching the numbers!

I added the upgrade. March 30 - April 3. 1 adult / 2 children. Pop standard room with MYW Dining added, no hopper became Pop standard room with MYW Dining added, PH with WPM option for same price. Nothing changed except the freebies added.
