How many of you like the smell of skunks :)

How did you come to the conclusion of, "wow I just love the smell of skunk. I think I'll post about my love of repulsive skunk smell on the DIS today!"

Because his other post for the day didn't get any reaction so he had to come up with something good.

P.S. To the poster about skunks making loving pets, that's true. We had one growing up and was a doll! I'd love to get another one but I'm afraid everytime I'd look at it I'd . LOL

hey, there are two dead skunks in the middle of the road right down the street from me if you want to come and take a whiff of them!!!! One is on the street near the post office and the other one is up on Rte 122!

at least they're not digging in my garden now!!!

I don't mind the smell of skunk when it's in the distance, but let me tell you--if your dog gets sprayed, it's an odor that defies description. Oh, it's horrible beyond belief!

Max got sprayed right on the muzzle last August. You could tell it hurt him badly, too. He was whimpering and foaming at the mouth. Right after it happened, his face had the "normal" skunk smell plus raw onions and a deep, funky animal, musky odor. It was totally nasty and made your eyes tear!

Max had to sleep in his cage for the next few nights, which made him very unhappy. The first floor of my house (especially the back porch) stunk for a couple of days.

It was an awful experience that I hope we never repeat. From that night on, Max does not go outside at night unsupervised.

BTW, we live in a suburb close to NYC. We see/smell skunks often in our yard in the summer, but this was our first (and hopefully last) close encounter with one. That skunk funk is putrid!

We had a skunk get under our house and spray. It was absolutely horrible. We had to keep our clothes in our car or at our dd's house. It was in the middle of a hot and humid summer and it took over two weeks before the smell was finally gone.

When you walked into our house from being outside the odor literally smacked you in the face. I pray that never, ever happens again. I can't even begin to tell you how bad it was.

So no, I don't like the smell of skunk.

It's a shame that most of the time when you're enjoying that yummy smell it means a poor little skunk has crossed his last road.

Sing me up. The realy fresh scent is too much but after that it just smells lke another mint, to me. Compared to diesel exhaust, old garbage, industrial fumes etc... it's quite nice.

While I don't "like" the smell of skunks, I don't think they are as nasty smelling as people make them out to be.

Rotten eggs is a much worse smell.

If you like the smell of them will you come clean off my porch then? One got in the other day and tore up everything he could on the porch - guess he/she was trying to nest. It doesn't smell too terrible out there but it isn't a pleasant smell either.

Well I'm no member of a gang but I think this thread was ridiculous! Why anyone would post this confounds me and I don't care who the OP was! It went WAY beyond odd.
