How many of you like the smell of skunks :)

This time of the year we see lots of skunks....they seem to get in a frenzy before they hibernate. Lots getting hit on the road...my dogs tend to chase a few this time of the year too. Plenty of stink. Very unpleasant, especially if it's close. Take forever to get rid of. I don't dislike skunks, just their smell. We went to an exotic pet auction several months ago (that's for another thread, what an awful place!) and someone was selling skunks for pets. I've heard they make excellent, loving pets. They can be de-scented but they still have an odor, just not as strong.

And yes, skunks release their "odor" when they are alive too. It's a defense for them.

Here in TX, we smell them all the time. They just pass through our yards. One got hit in the road last week where I have to drive at least twice a day. Since then, I just automatically hold my breath for that half mile. The smell has finally abated, for the most part. I felt really bad for the gate guards, because it was right next to their post.

There have been times when my mom was taking me to Disney and while I was in the car we could smell a skunk and there have been other times when I could smell a skunk I like the smell of skunks I Love skunks and their smell is so adorable

I am not the only human being that likes the smell of skunks There are other humans who like the smell of skunks So does anyone here like the smell of skunks I Love Flower the Skunk

Whenever we're riding in the car and smell a skunk, we blame the odor on someone sitting in the car. "Hey, why'd you do that for?!"

DH loves the smell of a skunk he said it remind him of some really good stuff that you use to smoke .He gets a big huge smile on his face when he smells one

Awesome It's awesome to see that others on the disboards like the smell of skunks Did you think you were the only one who likes the smell of skunks ? Some people think they are the only one who likes the smell of skunks. I find that there are a good number of people out there that like the smell of skunks

Ya know...I never thought about it. It's been a long time since I've smelled one...but I don't think it ever grossed me out like everyone else. Great...now I'm going to be out searching for smushed skunk on the roads to see if I can tolerate the smell. If your in WI and you see someone standing over skunk remains inhaling deeply...................................just keep driving.

Ok I'm kidding. I don't even have a dog. But seriously FC, the smell of skunk? I prefer the smell of cupcakes, chocolate, coffee. Nice smelling things that don't make you want to gag and pass out.

How did you come to the conclusion of, "wow I just love the smell of skunk. I think I'll post about my love of repulsive skunk smell on the DIS today!"

I can't say that I like the smell of skunk, but it doesn't bother me from a distance. It makes me sad when I see them lying dead along the road.

When I was a kid, we had a neighbor who had a de-scented skunk for a pet. It was the sweetest thing EVER -- so affectionate and friendly.

I googled "likes skunk smell" and their are many others who like it. My sense of smell is STRONG, maybe that is why I can't take it!
