How many of you have won a trip?

My DH won a trip when we first got married in a charity raffle - it was when we had first gotten married and we were offered a cash prize or the trip - we were building our first house and my practical DH made me take the cash prize!! But that's okay - we went a year later and bought DVC!!!

I'm certainly not complaining now....but I sure envy all of you lucky WDW trip winners. I won a trip on our local radio station to Puerto Vallarta. We go in just 50 days. I was really thrilled to win it, but I would have been even more thrilled to win a wdw trip. But I'm not looking my gift horse in the mouth!!! ;) I guess we don't have the clear channel station around here becuase if we did I would know about a contest to win a WDW trip! :thumbsup2

I've read that several people (including the poster earlier) mention winning a Disney cruise at "Who wants to be a Millionaire- Play It!" (WWTBAM-PI?). One of the Passporter authors recently won the grand prize, but it was a trip to New York. Do they regularly change the grand prize around? I'm not sure I want to see WWTBAM-PI when we go in a few months, but I might change my mind if a Disney Cruise is the grand prize? I'm not smart enough to win it, but it can't hurt to try...

Actually Dave Marx, the Passporter author that I believe you were talking about, won in May of 2002. At that time the grand prize was indeed a trip to New York. Initially the idea was you would win a trip to see a taping of WWTBAM. When the primetime show stopped taping regularly, they originally altered the trip to include tickets to a taping of Live with Regis and Kelly (or maybe it was still Kathie Lee). They later changed it to the Disney Cruise and unless they recently changed again that is still the grand prize.

I definitely think you should go see the show. One of the nicest things about it to me is that because of the contestant factor the show is never the same twice. Not many of the Disney shows can really say that. Don't get me wrong, I love many of the shows and would probably be upset if they changed them around much, but WWTBAM is always different and some of the shows are plain hilarious.

I win a lot of smaller prizes from radio contests, but never any trips. However, I did win the grand prize cruise at Millionaire at MGM in 2004. Then in 2005, my DD got in the Hot Seat and was allowed to bring a parent to help her since she was under 10 years old. She asked for my help and went on to win the grand prize as well. If you go to the show and hear the floor manager mention the youngest person to win was an 8 year old girl, they are talking about her.

As for the current radio contest, I haven't heard any of our local stations participating but they could be. I've tried before to win one of those nationwide contests and never had any luck doing it. However, I have managed to at least get through a couple of times, I just wasn't the right caller, so I wouldn't say it is totally hopeless.

Wow! Be sure to put that on her college application! :teeth:

I won a trip to WDW from a local radio station when I was in college. It was to promote the Living Seas in Epcot opening. So, you see, that was many years ago.

It was for 4, we stayed at the Hilton in DD, airfare, meals and tickets for 5 nights. It was awesome. Back then, they gave you tickets to use for your meals that said, contest winners on them , and it lists the places you can use them at. Some of the restaurants are still there and we just used a couple left over ones at the CP a couple years ago.

Plus they also gave us tickets for River Country . Since that no longer exists, they let us trade them in for either BB or TL. We used those last September.
