I was just curious how many of you have won trips to WDW. Our radio station is giving away trips for 4 if we hear the "call of the Yeti". I tried for 30 minutes today to get through before finally giving up. For those of you who've won in the past.... I'm so stinkin' JEALOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just bumping......... :mickeyjum

I keep trying to win a trip! It's always fun to hear when a Dis'er wins because we know that most Dis'ers appreciate Disney and will have a great time.

It's a nationwide radio contest . . it's running here too in Connecticut. They are giving away 3 trips a day for a family of 4. I also tried and got nothing but bzzzz bzzzz bzzzz and da da da because of heavy call volume . . .

I'll continue again with my quest tomorrow . . . pixiedust:

Hey, ya never know, we might get through . . . :scratchin

WE won a trip last year to WDW 50th anniversary party, on a radio call in show. 4 people flight,Poly hotel, Hopper tickets, Disney Dollers, special partys. WE were treated like kings. WE were the 50th caller on a Clear Channel station, I did not belive we had won until I called the station, They said we are the Winners..... What a great trip. Our next trip to WDW is in 8 days, we will be paying for this one...... KEEP dialing that phone dreams do come true........

We went in 2000 on a trip we won from Petco. They had opened a new store near us, and they had a form to fill out for a drawing. I filled it out, and forgot about it. About 4 months later, I got a call from a company that runs sweepstakes. I thought they were kidding me! It was for a trip for 4...but when I told them we were a family of 5, they made it a trip for 5! It was airfare from NY, 7 nights hotel (AS Movies), park hopping plus passes, and $1000 cash. We had a blast! I made up a huge banner saying "Thank you, Petco!", and I had someone take a picture of our family holding the banner in front of the big ball at Epcot. We sent them the picture when we got home, and got a call from some mucky-muck at Petco saying how much they appreciated the thank you! So...those of you that win....always make an effort to say thanks! It seems to make a difference....and the companies may sponser some more sweepstakes!

Wow! What great stories! My hope for tomorrow has been rejuvenated! :rotfl:

Are you saying I'm competing with others outside of our state as well? ohhhhhhhhhh, if that's the case.... maybe my hope is drizzling quick again! :lmao:

I think the poster is saying that many Clear Channel stations around the country are running the same contest within the same time period. At least I hope that is the case otherwise we have about no chance in winning. Like the last Power Ball lottery. I gave them a solid $40. Hey, at least we don't have to pay for the chance to listen to the radio.
I did actually get through to the CT station - "the River" - however I was too late and a recording told me so. Oh, well, tomorrow must be my day. :worship:

I won a trip from McDonald's. I actually got to pick WDW or DL, and since I go to WDW 4X per year (most recently in January), I decided to go to DL. I'm taking my parents and my sister...they are very grateful. We're staying at the DL Hotel, four nights, tickets, airfare...and I get the feeling there will be some little perks as well (Would it be immature to say I really want to be the Grand Marshalls for the parade?

We're going March 30 - April 4, and I cannot wait! It's actually 4 weeks from tomorrow (thanks for reminding me!). :cool1:

I was at WDW in 2004 and won Millionaire at MGM.....last year I took my 3 sisters on my prize winning cruise on the Disney Wonder........

Yup, its The River . . .I think they say "be the 100th Nationwide Caller" to that number to win . . .not sure how many clear channel stations are doing it.

At least you got through, even though it was too late . . .I am never that lucky . . .

Good calling today!! pixiedust:

Aargh! Well, I'm listening to 2 stations today. Those trips sound great... and of course, you can't beat free!!!!!!! Keeping fingers crossed!

To everyone out there playing... good luck!!!!!!!!! pixiedust:

I won a trip 10 years ago from a NYC radio station - WPLJ. They were giving away trips for 4 - airfare, hotel, transfers and all food included. We stayed at the All Star Sports. At the time they would have a song of the day and as soon as they started playing the song you had to be the 95th caller. They would play the song only once anywhere form 6 am to 5 pm so you really had to listen all day and pay attention. The song I won with was Sunglasses at Night :)

Impressive...not easy to make into the hot seat, let alone run the table. Millionaire ran out of time the year we saw the show - they were to pick the #1 ranked audience member next (I was 6th at that point and was dreaming of a cruise!).

Not to be a drag, but I'm curious. :teeth: What did your tax statement from the winnings show? I never entered any of these things before thinking that the taxes at the end of the year would kill any joy out of winning.

I win a lot of smaller prizes from radio contests, but never any trips. However, I did win the grand prize cruise at Millionaire at MGM in 2004. Then in 2005, my DD got in the Hot Seat and was allowed to bring a parent to help her since she was under 10 years old. She asked for my help and went on to win the grand prize as well. If you go to the show and hear the floor manager mention the youngest person to win was an 8 year old girl, they are talking about her.

As for the current radio contest, I haven't heard any of our local stations participating but they could be. I've tried before to win one of those nationwide contests and never had any luck doing it. However, I have managed to at least get through a couple of times, I just wasn't the right caller, so I wouldn't say it is totally hopeless.

I won the free gas last month. It was awesome. Won a $100 prepaid visa gift card. What is the cue to call for this? I know they say at 7am each morning they will tell what times to call.

I actually posted this story a little while back on another "have you ever won..." thread....

We did! It was actually back for the 100 Years of Magic- you could enter to win a trip for 8 (eight!!!) for 7 days/ six nights including airfare, transfers, passes, $500 disney dollars and a stay at the Grand Floridian. You were able to enter at Boscovs' (a local department store), and the winner was to be announced on Thanksgiving morning 2001 during our Philadelphia Thanksgiving day parade broadcast on ABC.

Well, imagine this.... Thanksgiving morning 2001. My mom, now DH, and I are sitting in my parents living room watching the thanksgiving day parade. My dad happened to be upstairs in the shower at the time. Katie Harman (Miss America 2002) and Mickey Mouse appear on the screen right before one of the commercial breaks and she announces that she is going to draw the Grand Prize winner of the contest. Well, she reaches her hand into the box of what looks like a million little white pieces of folded paper, slowly unfolds it, and reads MY MOM'S NAME ! Mickey, Goofy and Katie Harman are all cheering, confetti is falling, and "when you wish upon a star" is playing. Well, now picture this- my cup of coffee went flying, and I turned into a screaming, tearful, sobbing, heap on the floor. My mom is screaming her lungs out, running around the living room like we just won a few million dollars. My dad (who was in the shower) is now running down the stairs half naked and soapy with a towel around him because he thought someone just died. I turn around and see DH just sitting on the couch wide-eyed and completely speechless. What a Thanksgiving to remember!!!! And we had a great trip in May of 2002 to boot!~

My mother won a trip for 4 of us from a local radio station but we couldn't go because it was my older sisters Sweet 16 party  The good news was that my parents ended up taking us anyway the following month but even though my sister is 41 now I am still sad about it :rotfl:

These stories are so great! I'm sooooooooooo wanting to win! I love the Thanksgiving Day story! What a hoot! :rotfl: I would be yelling as though I'd won the lottery as well.... matter of fact, during that $267 million lottery recently, we had already "planned" to spend a good deal of money on our upcoming trip to WDW! :rotfl2: Ahhhhhhhhh, one can dream can't they?
