How many of you have had the heck scared out of you be a HM CM?

memymomonica: YES! Your real name isn't Michele is it?? In the early 80s I was at Disneyland with some friends and two of us were on the HM together with the other girls in different cars. We were just riding along chatting and right after you go through the hallway, out of the complete dark, a CM jumped out at us wearing black. We screamed soooo loud! Here we had been on that ride tons of times before and just thought of it as silly fun, but I tell you, nothing has ever startled me more before or since then!

The real killer was that none of our friends would believe that it had happened! They were convinced that we were either making it up or had imagined it. I read in the last couple of years on doombuggies.com that they did do that for a period of time in the 80s. Oh, I felt so vindicated. Written proof that it reallly happened. Totally fun memory!

I had a moment in the HM during an E-Ride nite. We were going into the room to get in the buggies and as we were walking around the one CM by the moving platform would stare people down and then bang really hard on the counter next to him. I thought it was hysterical and was laughing really hard and really loud and tried to keep my laughing down and avoid eye contact when I got around to him. So I get to my buggy and watch the walking CM stick his head into random ones in front of us. I think that he is past mine after I got in so I look over to my brother who was with me and then turned around just to make sure only to find the CM right in my face. I screamed soo loud and said "Oh my God" over and over. It really freaked me out but was soo funny!!

DS and I were taking one of the last rides one night--late and no one else around, really, so we were chatting through the line. The CM did the 'hang on the doom buggie and stare at you' thing, but then, he jumped out AFTER the ride AFTER we had gotten off! Totally freaked me out and DS thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen! I also like it when they circle the room and stand behind me. I have never seen them coming, and I've been on that ride too many times to count...

Our last trip in March we got the heeby-geebies scared out of us at HM. We all four were standing at the door waiting for it to open, watching Madame Leotas tombstone eyes. Well the doors creeped open and there right at us was a CM in full character. We didnt know the doors had opened and she did a good job of scaring us along with a few others around us. It was great!!
