How many of YOU are on Atkins??

I'm on Atkins and I've had steady success with it.

I've been doing Atkins with my DH since March 11. I have lost 35.5lbs since we bought a scale 2weeks into the diet. I am guessing that my total weight loss is actually a little higher. I am really enjoying the diet and don't really miss carbs at all. I do have to keep varying the menu so we don't get bored, but I really feel in control of my food and my eating habits. In fact, I sometimes forget to eat because I'm hungry very often since the protein stays in my system longer than carbs ever did.

I started out losing quickly, but have slowed a little - I'm not eating more than 20 carbs a day, but I might not be drinking enough water - I also may need to up my fat intake. It's hard for an old calorie-counter like me to eat fat!!

I am on Atkins and it has been working excellent for me!! :)

I'm on Atkins too!! And- it's been slow progress that seems to culminate in spurts of weight loss. I have been low carbing for almost 3 months and Atkins low carbing for 2 of those months. Until today- my total weight loss was at 12.5 lbs. Today- it jumped to 18 lbs. So- that was exciting to say the least. One of the hardest things I've had to learn about losing weight is that people lose weight in different ways- but if you stay on plan, you WILL lose it!

I'm still an Atkins newbie. I will be starting my 4th week of induction on Sunday. So far, I have lost about 4lbs. I really do not miss carbs as much as I thought I would. Honestly, my DD & I made a batch of rice krispie treats a couple of days ago & the only time I touched them, was to cut them up for other people. Let me tell you, that has been a bit difficult but I was able to stay away from them. Being at home all day, that's quite a feat for me.:p

I have been keeping close track of my food intake on fitday.com & that helps. I want to try to speed up my weight loss, so I have severly limited my carbs just for this next week. I hope that I have positive results.

Although, my weight loss has seemed slow to me, I feel better in my clothing, I have more ambition & I am generally happier (about me) than I have been in a long time. That being said, I think it's working for me.:Pinkbounc

I am on it but today is the end of my first day. So far..so good!

I am on it, and so far so good. I am not hungry, and I don't have cravings for carbs like I thought I would. I am just finishing my 3rd week, and have lost 15 pounds, (though my official weigh in isn't until tomorrow.

Tomorrow ends my first week on Atkins. I feel good, but I'm not going to weigh myself until next Saturday. I'm going to try to weigh every 10 days - 2 weeks.

I haven't been hungry and I haven't cheated. It is so hard for me to comprehend eating all of this fat! I'm a reformed calorie counter too, and it's going to take some time to get used to this. I'm going to give it one month, and if I see solid results I'll keep it up. If not, I'll try another approach.

One thing that was hard this week was work lunches. In the past, I've always eaten a Healthy Choice meal for lunch but those are off limits now. I have to organize myself enough to bring in good food choices.

I am on day 5 of induction. Each day is easier even though no day has been awful. I just need to make sure I am creative so I don't get bored. I will definately stick to it though. I want to be in some of the pictures of our next trip!

I have been on Atkins for 1 week, however I still drink my dry white wine at weekends. I dont miss the carbs at all.. I havent lost any kilos, just inches. I workout so I am assuming I am gaining weight in muscle.

I'm on Atkins...but not religiously (until this week) but I've managed to squeek out 14 lbs....not bad...

Been on and off it for 2 years and have lost 76 pounds and have kept it off :) :) I found it hard at the beginning, but it is easy to follow now. Much harder to loose weight now than at the beginning...only 6 pounds left!!!!

I'm on it for the second time around. I didn't know that I couldn't go back to eating regular after I lost all my weight the first time so this time it's for keeps. The diet works great for so many of us.

My DH is on this Diet, he is in the "induction" period. I cannot DO the induction, but I have not eaten carbs in 2 days!:o I have BOTH books, the new and old, and still find them very hard to read ALL the way thru! So, I am looking for MEAL ideas, and hope I lose some weight, as the LOW FAT diet STOPPED working for me.:o

I've been on Atkins since April 28, 2003. I love how energetic I feel that it's almost enough to not want the carbs back in my life.

I'm a bit frustrated right now though....I've not lost weight in the past 2 weeks. I'm eating a bit under 20 grams of carbs and 1200 calories a day. I'm getting my water in....

Not sure what the problem is but hopefully the scale will move soon.

Good luck to the rest of my fellow Atkins buddies!

I've been following the Atkins way of eating since August of 2000. It's no longer a "diet" to me, it's just the way I eat. I lost about 35-40 pounds initially, in the first 9 months or so. But I never lost that last 10 pounds, and now I'm making a concerted effort to get rid of it, for once and for all!

My biggest problem at this point is that I know I need to exercise, in order to lose that last 10 pounds. And I hate to exercise!!!

If anyone has any tips, I'd sure appreciate them!

Mlissa88, I suggest you stop counting the calories :) I had a difficult time with this also and once I stopped and only paid attention to the carbs, I lost weight.

I've been on Atkins for 9 weeks and have lost 26 pounds! (wow, it feels good to say that).

You can do this and we can help! :)
