Ok. just a question.. who can say they were first. I joined in 93. And what was your purchase price. dave:cool:

I bought in 95 when it was still the Vacation Club and we got free passes to the parks. I would have bought earlier, but I thought you had to be a millionare to buy in, I did not realize that it only cost the price of a car. Prior to that we stayed at the Disney Inn then tried some of the moderates, before staying for cash in 94 or early 95 at OKW. I loved it at the time. A lot has changed since then.

We joined in 1991 before it even existed. Our member number is 1175, and we paid $51 for our initial 230 points. Anita.

We also joined in 91 . I seem to recall hearing from our guide that a couple from Canada were the first members.

We bought in January, 1993 on the first day of a trip. After a family photo & ice cream sundae at the Commodore House, we converted our trip to points, so the down payment was off-set by what we were going to spend on the trip. DH thinks we paid $52 or $54 per point.

I remember the popcorn ice cream. I remember getting a coin to commerate our first stay as members. I am very happy with my vacation investment in DVC.

We joined in '91, and have a February use year. We paid $51.00 a point.

I'm editing this because I just dragged out the "green book", blew the dust off the cover, and checked my papers. It looks like we were number 433 to join.

(At one time when we discussed this, someone offered that it's the last few numbers of your membership. ) The two numbers don't match. I'm now going by what I found in my paperwork.

We joined in 93 when it was the Vacation Club and have loved every minute since. I think it was somewhere between 53-57 a point. Still have the picture they took at the Commodore House displayed in the Den.

I joined in Feb. 92. Got a ton of Sand Dollars and a great Print by the DVC artist. Got the coin also.
My member number is really long.........how do you know what your number is? 51.00 per point.

We didn't join until much, much later. But my aunt & uncle bought during the pre-sales and I believe their price per point was under $50? Maybe $48.00? Not sure the exact price but definitely a bargain, especially with the free passes!

As a side note - maybe not such a good idea to post member #'s? MS only ask for member number and name to make reservations and other transactions. I've given my aunt my number before (and vice versa) and had her make reservations for me (joint vacations) before.

Good question, how DO you know your member number in sequence? The mbr nbr on the card reads something like the national debt.

I think your mem# for mem services isn't the same as the order you joined...your acct number with member accounting is probably pretty accurate, since it is your contract number, and yes, I'd want to keep my account number private. Suffice it to say that we are between number 2000 and 2500. We joined in May of 92, and I think it was either $51.50 or $53 per point.

We joined in February of 1992 also, sight unseen. My father's cousin had been at Disney World and called and knew we went to Disney at least once per year. He told us all about the free passes., etc. and all the details and we decided to take the plunge. I think we paid in the low 50s per point, but I don't have the paperwork here. We are pleased with the investment and with the DVC. Those free passes for 8+ years pretty much paid for the initial investment.

When we joined in July 1995 (sight unseen), Old Key West was still DVC. And we got the passes. And we paid $62.75 per point.

We didn't get ice cream until the following year when we decided to go on the tour.

We joined in June 1992 and have visited many times - I can't recall the price per point then but it was the low 50s I think. We did have the passes and still visit as many times a year if not more.

I believe that we have determined that the member number IS in numerical order...or at least it was for many years, it probably still is.

Sept 92

October 1992, sight unseen, totally over the phone. Had been on what I thought would be a once in a lifetime trip in August and couldn't stop thinking about what a wonderful place WDW is. Our investment paid for itself a long time ago.

hey members thanks for the great replys . We joined oct 93 . I think my number was 11,000 . somewhere along that . we paid around the 50 number. cant remember... its been sooo long..we love those free passes. oh well.. dave.. :p :p

We joined in March of 1993 and liked it so much that we did our first add-on in May of 1994.

I am sure you are correct, but, which numbers are these folks using? The fist six, last 4 or which combination? I know my guide told me once, it was very low, but, I simply don't remember.
