How many of you are hoping to purchase Lakeshore?

We love it but at AKV it isn't basic Hilton food because it has the African touches. And we like the free beer and wine considering that if we go right downstairs to Victoria Falls we will pay like $12-18 per drink.
We'd definitely consider any new DVC resort with club level. It's why we bought CCV but then they took that one away.
Don't they book dining reservations for length of stay too and any other perks? I booked 3 nights for February and trying to get as much out of it as I can 🤣🤣

I must be missing something about Club level? Isn’t this basically the same buffet that we ignore when we’re staying at Marriott or Hilton on business?
I'm not sure, but here's an example of what's offered: https://www.disboards.com/threads/disneys-club-level-cl-thread.3414590/post-66082317

(I try not to read that thread because it makes me envious.)

So pretty much in line with international concierge lounges, a little better than most domestic. I still wouldn’t use it.

I wouldn’t buy a direct contract for the new resorts because they have the resale restrictions. That kills the liquidity and value of what you’re buying. I think Disney is very short sighted here. Having a liquid resale market made DVC different than other timeshares. They are killing that with the resale restrictions which I believe will discourage people from buying their product.

It never did. People have reported that they were able to pay for it as a cash guest when they arrived for stay in the hotel side.
There was Reunion Station for a while, which was sort of similar, kind of. It went through several versions before flopping completely. I still keep up hope that they're bring it back as a community center or DVC lounge.

Hopefully they take the restrictions away. It's a new concept they can do that if it's not working for them....

I find it interesting that they put PIT with PVB instead of as a standalone with restrictions. I mean if it was working so great for them wouldn't they have just done restrictions there too?

Really curious to see if LSL has restrictions, it seems like it's going to be big with a lot of rooms to sell, although not all will be dvc, do they really want it to be slower? If it has restrictions then I will assume that they decided to keep things this way from here on out, but I'm not fully convinced yet.

It's not new. Diamond (now Hilton) had been doing this for years before Disney didl. Same with Marriott. Both of those have a way of paying to wash resale points, and Disney might add that. But the restriction ship has otherwise sailed.

All about park proximity - so I will be “out.” They would need to build a MK Skyliner or something similar to entice.

we own at Riv and PVB all for park proximity.

Definite 'no' for us. We have enough points. It might be somewhere different to stay on a transfer but I don't see this as a exclusive resort. I'd rather stay in Wilderness Lodge.

*New for Disney

Given we are 6 years into these restrictions I think they are here to stay.

Plus, they have been working to make buying resale vs direct different for over 13 years.

First, it’s was no trading points for things like cruises in 2012…most said no big deal

Then came changing rules for membership extras in 2016….some impact but not for all.

Then 2019 and restrictions for trading resale points in new resorts.. much bigger change

So, I just don’t see them backtracking on this. But, I can see them add a program to allow resale owners to access new resorts by creating a program that allows people to pay, even if it’s a per reservation fee vs a washing of points type program.

That would be nice to offer, I could see them doing that for people that already own resale and not people that buy future resale
