how many of us joined dvc 'cause of f&f incentive?

Like so many others... I was on the fence and not planning to buy for a few years, but just couldn't resist the deal.

Now, the big question... will it be successful enough (for Disney) that they do it again in a year or two? And if so, I suspect there'll be a lot of people who joined now who will want to add-on then...!

I previously owned at BCV and OKW but sold my memberships because my son didn't want to come to WDW anymore (college student) and I began traveling to Vegas. After hearing about the F&F discount and reading all the posts here, I called up my old guide and took the plunge again! Now I'm looking forward to bringing my grands to WDW one day (in about 10-15 years). :woohoo:

You can count us in on that one too! :lmao: We knew we wanted in after renting this past summer, but held off. F&F was the deciding factor!
Just can't wait to go home again!

We had a tour planned for our Oct trip and planned on buying. But due to F&F I got nervous it wouldn't last that long so we bought a little early.
It also allowed for us to buy more points as I had an amount for just it and with the discount we decided to stay with that amount.

We were especially convinced because of the f&f promotion and thanks to this website we found a great referral.

Happy we made the decision and can't wait to start using out points!

:cool1:

We went to MK XMas day and the park lost power for awhile. We didnt know what to do so I suggested to my boyfriend about finding out about the DVC so we did nothing else to do sorta of speak. So thanks to MK power outtage our xmas vacation cost us an additional $15,000. We didnt know about F and F at the time. Got back to the hotel room later that night and did some fiquring. We fiqured staying on Disney property for 5 years will have the cost of the DVC paid for. So we got a good deal.

We did too. Like others, we have been watching for a while and were in the process of buying a resale when this offer came around. When we did the comparison, we decided it was time to jump in.

First trip home to SSR in 2 weeks. Can't wait. :Pinkbounc

I'm reading these threads and panicking because I'm very interested in buying a DVC but it appears that I might have missed a good sale???!! Does anyone know if this promo is still on or have any advice in buying right now??? I always out on everything!!! Thanks....

We were in the process of buying resale when f&f came out. Cancelled the resale and bought new the same day.

We didn't, b/c we were already owners. We did add-on though. But we were able to convince my father and his friend to join in.

Now, that is a pretty good deal to convince two retired guys who are glued to their money to buy a 50 year Vacation club at SSR. My mom and their friends wife can't believe the guys did it, but hey, they worked hard for their money, so they're going to spend it how they want. At least, that's what they keep telling their friends back home.

That was a really good deal! Did you not know about it before it expired? We were thinking about buying after staying there last summer and were looking into resale. It worked out that we paid less for new, got extra points, and 12 more years. Who knows :confused3 maybe they will do something like that again.
Good Luck!
Stephanie

We're still waiting on official paperwork approval, but have been given a verbal "it looks OK, " but we joined because of F&F. I'm not sure I would have joined otherwise.

Unfortunately you did miss out on this promo but there will be others. I don't know exactly what is going on right now but before this promo there was 8/off a point making it 90 a point instead of 98. If you are serious about buying I would think it might be worth it to do so before March as it is rumored that points will go up to 101/point.

Count us in--we've been wanting to do something like this for a long time. And after 3 trips to WDW in the past year, we figured DVC was for us. And then the FandF promotion just pushed us over the edge! Thanks to everyone who answered our questions and offered us a referral! :goodvibes

F&F finally gave me the ammo I needed to convinve my wife. We had been talking about it since 2003 and she kept saying we might not have the money, but as I was in the process of scheduling our next trip for May, after having been there in January and August, I came across the deal and convinced her that the time was now. So she agreed and we took the big plunge and we are both so very excited.
Thank you to everyone on this site for getting the info out there. You guys rock.

Yes, we did due to F&F. We had made an offer on a resale but were waiting to hear back from the owner. In the meantime (and after reading some of these posts) I contacted DVC directly and found out that with the F&F deal it was actually slightly cheaper to buy new. In addition, we were able to get SSR which gave us an additional 12 or so years of use.

We couldn't be happier :-)
